Clear to golden color with no head. Smells exactly like you would think champagne and a pale lager. The flavor is champagne and corn. Some citrus flavors showing through. Carbonated mouthfeel. Weird but not horrible.

7/25/11. 12oz bottle. Horrifying clear golden pour with a fizzy white head that fades fast. A scary aroma that is quite sweet... green apples, simple syrup, and fusel alcohols. Ridiculously sweet flavor that borders on lemonade or soda... my word.

Fizzy with a bit more body than lagers. Sweet grain taste. Golden color. Once seemed like a step up from mere beer. :-)

Wondering why I bought this one. Light golden and clear with a noisy white head that does kind of resemble champagne. It actually kind of tastes like it, too. Fruity and sweet, almost syrupy. This might or might not be a beer and a wine cooler is probably what it really is.

A: The pour is a very pale yellow color with a thin layer of white foam on top, but plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom of my glass. S: The nose is incredibly sweet, and fruity. I pick up a lot of peaches and some mild grain sweetness as well. T: Surprisingly, the flavor is actually decent. It’s almost soda like due to the sweetness and the high level of carbonation. The champagne aspect of the beer is amusing at best, but it does add a little something different to a normally awful style. M: As previously mentioned this beer is incredibly effervescent. Although the body is quite thin, the carbonation and cold temperature make this one quite crisp and refreshing. D: I’m not one that normally likes the overly sugary beers, but I must say, this one was really not too terrible.

Golden color, no head. Apple, cider in the nose. Dry apple and cider/white wine in the flavor. Nicely drying finish. Smooth palate. Beer? No - it’s a cider!

Bottled@Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. (as Lion Brewery G. Heileman Champale Extra Dry, 5.4%). Rather pale yellowish golden colour, not much head. Aroma is whitewine, dry semidry apples and that’s about it. Flavour is white wine, some rather dry wooden and applelike notes. Strange brew.

PorterPounder (4109) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 31, 2008
Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 oz bottle. Light pale golden pour, no head. Steely aroma with some sweetness akin to bubble gum. Flavor is very artificial with heavy corn syrup accents and not much else - maybe a bit of monkey bar metal. Thinnish mouthfeel - too carbonated. Surprised to see this still around - remember this from my beer can collecting days of the ’70s as a kid.
