A hybrid-style beer, this ale is fermented at lager temperatures that produce a clean, bright beer, with mild hop characteristics and irresistible drinkability. 2-row pale malt and Vienna malt combine with Hallertau hops.

Can. Pours light golden with a frothy head. Nose and taste has grains, hay, green grass, some light citrus and some hops.

Can: Hay, mildly shitty aroma. Hazy golden, thick head. Sweet hay with a bitter grassy finish. Medium body, well hopped. Drinks more like a north German pilsner.

Can shared by Caleb - thanks! Light golden pour with a small white head. Grain and floral aroma. Bit of citrus perhaps. Not bad.

Thanks Grant. Middle of the road Kolsch, but still enjoyable on the hot day it was. Light citrus and fruitiness with a dominate, yet still light caramel malt.

Crisp golden coloured body with a hint of a peach glow and a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of malt, alcohol, pungent earth, a little sugar and some more bitterness and medicinal notes. Light-bodied; Fresh malt flavours at first with a hint of nuts and earth and very little else - thin and simple flavoured. Aftertaste shows hints of grass, hay, yeast and lemons with a lot of metallic and tangy notes that are a little offensive. Overall, a decent kolsch, but a bit too light and too funky flavoured for my liking, but not a horrible beer. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop (20th Street Location) in Arlington, Virginia on 22-July-2014 for US$11.99/six pack sampled at home a few blocks away from the shop on 05-August-2014.

8/2/2014. On tap. Golden color with a white head. A bit more hoppy than expected but a clean example of the style. Drinkable but not interesting.

Can. Light golden pour with white head. Light crisp flavors, finish is simpler. Aromas are light malt tones.

Total Wine, Fairfax cans: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is light apple, some mild citrus, grass, bread. Taste is mostly for course. I suppose there are a little bit more hops in this than in a traditional rendition, but not by all that much. Apple notes in there of course. Not bad. Easy drinking.

Can. Pours clear golden medium lasting white head, nice lacing. Aroma is grass, grain and honey. Flavor follows, light sweet and medium bitter with a bit of metallic harshness present. Medium light body, lingering harsh bitterness and a twinge of acidity.

yellow pour, fair sized head. Hallertau hops prevalent here. Far more like a pils than a kolsch. Refreshing though not overly complex. Few steps up from a bud but nowhere near a good german kolsch
