A hybrid-style beer, this ale is fermented at lager temperatures that produce a clean, bright beer, with mild hop characteristics and irresistible drinkability. 2-row pale malt and Vienna malt combine with Hallertau hops.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a small soapy head. Notes of marshmallows, life cereal, and some earth.

Can at the soulless bar in a soulless Hyatt in soulless "Crystal City" (a business park next to DC Reagan airport that makes suburban Maryland look hip and inviting).

Light orange pour, mildly hoppy nose. Bready flavors, touch of sourness as befits, somewhat strongly hopped. Passable.

12 oz can shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Day Box No. 2. The pour is a darker golden yellow with a thin cap of head that falls to a thicker collar. The aroma is by good. It's like a bag of sweaty hockey gear. The back end is more of a sweet metal and just not good at all. It's pretty rough. There seems to be a little maltiness and it's kind of weird. Sweet lager-y and just not good. The flavor is very sweet. There is a maltiness and a strong metallic tendency that I definitely don't care for at all. It's got some kind of sweetness that sucks. This isn't what I'm looking for in a kolsch at all. The mouth feel is heavier and syrupy with a lack of good carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and metallic offering on the back end. Ugh.

Can shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #2. Aroma is sweet corn, metallic, slightly fruity, sweaty, not good. Appearance is golden, hazy, white, hazy. Taste is metallic, sweet corn, grain, slight pine, lots of metal, just really bad. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, metallic aftertaste, bleh. Overall, this is a basic kölsch, not good.

Draft at Buz and Ned’s in Richmond. Cereal malts, light citrus, grainy, crackery, bitter finish. Meh.

Sampled at GABF In the sample glass was yellow. Tine bit of white foam. Nose if light citrus. Light to medium body. Flavor was the lemon and floral. The finish was bitter for a Kolsch. Bordering on a pilsner. Nevertheless while maybe not fully to style it tasted pretty good.

Can. Pours a slightly darker gold than the typical Kolsch, with a minimal fizzy white head that completely vanished almost instantly. The aroma is not good at all, it’s more akin to garbage juice than it is to a beer. There seems to be a bit of sourness to the aroma as well. I don’t expect this to go well. Well, the flavor isn’t quite as awful as I was expecting, but it’s clearly not a style superstar. Wet and soggy malt, a hint of tartness on the lingering grainy finish. There’s little to no perceptible hops coming through at all. Light bodied, a tad clingy and flabby, fizzy carbonation. Not good at all, and definitely one of the worst attempts at Kolsch that I’ve had.

(Can) Very cloudy amber body with small to medium white head. Aroma of toast and fruit. Light to medium body, soft mouthfeel. Flavor is smooth and drinkable; pine and some vegetable upfront, growing bitterness in there finish; dry.

Can at CG Dulles. Nice golde body with medium head. Nose of fruits, fresh apples, spices. Taste hoppy, with malts and fruits and apples. Okay.
