ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBev’s three breweries. The recipe was changed to include rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version. It is sold as 5.5% abv in some markets.
"With its attractive taste and a price that appealed to consumers at all levels, the response and success of Chang marked a new era and turned a new page for the Thai beer industry. In 1998 Beer Chang was awarded the “Gold Medallion” at the International Beer Competition in Australia in the category of “Lager, Unlimited Degree”.

Pours yellow with no head from bottle. Aroma is a light grainyness. Taste is pretty sharp, some bitter, no sweet. Has a really distinct yeast? I think. Floral like. light body.

Bottled, 330 ml. Clear golden colour, relative big creamy white head, lively carbo. Nose and aroma has biscuits, rice and... that’s it. Finish is short and mainly sweet underpainted by some shy hoppy hints...

Piana bardzo mizerna, szybko się rozpadła, praktycznie niec nie pozostawiając na powierzchni. Barwa jasnozłota, wręcz słomkowa, klarowna, nieźle pracuje, ale piany nadal brak. Aromat to odrobina słodów, kwaskowo drożdżowy, odrobinę owocowy. W smaku jest kwaskowe, słodowe, jakby jabłkowe, trawiaste ale w żadnym wypadku nie jest to trawa świeżo skoszona. Wysycenie średnie, wytrawne, goryczki brak.

Bottle 0.33L. Clear golden body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Light-to-moderate malty (grains, some bread) and hoppy (herbal) aroma. Moderate sweet and light-to-moderate bitter flavour. Light body with watery texture; average carbonation.

Can in Chiang Mai. Yellow colour with a white head. Poor aroma with a thin body of too sweet brewing cereals, with minimal bitterness. It tastes as cheap as it is. But nevertheless whilst it was ice cold it suited the pat Thai well.
