"With its attractive taste and a price that appealed to consumers at all levels, the response and success of Chang marked a new era and turned a new page for the Thai beer industry. In 1998 Beer Chang was awarded the “Gold Medallion” at the International Beer Competition in Australia in the category of “Lager, Unlimited Degree”.

Chang pours slightly hazy and with a pale. Head persisted for a little longer than average. There’s barely any aroma present. What is there is not so great. Light sugary smells with a slightly off-putting funky malts (almost a little bit of rancid butter). Very much like the smell would indicate, this beer has very little taste. And what is there doesn’t much appeal to me- a little sugary but with that rancid butter malt taste just flirting on the edge of my palate. Blech. At least the mouthfeel is about right. Light carbonation, light consistency. Maybe a little much malt follow through actually. I wouldn’t drink a lot of these, even with the lightness. If you’re in Thailand and looking for a beer, I think Leo is your best bet.

Pours a bright, golden color, with a big, bubbly head. Smells of slightly herbal hay, accompanied by a gentle leaf quality and sweeter oats. A very light, refreshing lager, with a well dosed amount of carbonation. Tastes of overly sugery malts, wrapping up the whole palate, while a rich note of wheat, topped by a whiff of lemon shine through. Too sweet too be enjoyable, while it does provide a convincing freshness, due to the lively carbonation.

It is actual Thai food. Nice accompaniment with Thai food. Goes well with spicy food. I had two.

Grain, sweet notes, pale golden, white head not persistant, light body, medium carbonation, watery, medium sweetness without bitter taste...not so bad afterall.

Bottiglia.

Taste is mildly bitter, very dry, carbonated, mildly fermented grain and yeast nose. Lite gold and clear, lite body with smaller head.

Originally rated on 7/31/08. The body is a clear golden yellow with ample carbonation and a 1 finger white head. Aroma of malt and grain, taste is similar to aroma with a sweet finish. Thin mouthfeel but crisp, a decent beer but not good enough to warrant another purchase

Kolor z?oty, odrobin? przymglony. Piana znikoma, bia?a. Aromat s?odowy, do tego dochodz? nuty miodowe i s?odki aromat kwiatów lipy. Smak: tutaj prócz lekkiej wody z miodem nie ma nic, no mo?e lekka metaliczno??.
