Nice picture - my can looks exactly like this. Malty aroma, definitely metallic with some faint alcohol and a lot of rice. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic bitterness up front fading to a very mild watery mouthful with hardly any taste - very bland. Aftertaste is mild with only some sugar and malt coming through. Overall, a pretty bad beer, but in the Thai heat and spicy food, this should work well. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from a grocery store in Bangkok, Thailand on 24-August-2009 (during my honeymoon), sampled at home in Washington on 16-December-2009.

A big 500ml can from a 7-Eleven in Bangkok. Not much to write about. Best thing I can say is that it was hotter than hell outside and the beer was very cold!

(bottle) pale gold with white head. Very mild malt aroma. Pleasant enough light malt flavor with a lightish body.

Can and bottle from Thai supermarket. Pale lager with a very malty flavour and short, fizzy but flavourful aftertaste. I prefer this to regular Chang for the lower ABV and draught taste. Also excellent value if purchased in its home country.

Can from Thai supermarket. Cornish, grainy pale lager with lots of stale, not pale malt tones. Pretty bad.

Clearly less malty than the more common option (which is actually not a bad beer). Crisp and dry although some adjunct sweetness does come through. In reality just like most other Asian PLs.

Basic boring Thai pilsner that works OK when it’s too hot to enjoy a real beer. Good substitute to bottled water.
