ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, Chang Light, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBev’s three breweries. The recipe of Chang Classic includes rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version of Chang Beer.
It is not known if Chang Export was ever a different beer to the 5% abv Chang Beer and Chang Draught or simply a re-badge.

Compared with the other Chang beers maybe this one get a real improvement. The aroma has some malt notes, and a slight citric tones by the hops. The body is light, the flavor is still too sweet but the balance between malt and hops is clearly better, and the amount of alcohol make it more enjoyable.

Normal golden lager color, a white head with some retention. Smell is mainly grassy hops and some grain. Taste is grain and hops.Bland but not awful. Decent carbonation. Overall a decent lager, goes well with Thai food. Go figure....

Poured from a can into a glass while in Thailand. Aroma has a light sweet graininess to it. Light floral hop aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Clean without diacetyl or sulfur. Pours a very clear, pale golden yellow with a moderately large, fluffy white head that quickly recedes but a continual stream of bubbles replenishes it on the edges. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a light sweet grainy character. Light floral hop character with a hint of fruitiness and a light grassy note. Low bitterness. Fairly crisp and dry. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall another decent Thai light lager, but nothing to seek out or write home about. It's nice that there isn't an adjunct character, but the malt character is pretty light. Hops are average but pretty muted by my standards. Clean without diacetyl or sulfur. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled in a can from a supermarket in Bangkok. Actually a pretty good brew. The malts are nice and it isnt too carbonated. A really refreshing brew in the hot climate.

@ Lanta Casuarina Beach Resort, Koh Lanta, Thailand. Burk från 7-eleven, Koh Lanta. 100% Finest Malt hahaha! Den varken doftar eller smakar i alla fall speciellt mycket! Bara lite syrlig(!) doft och smak tycker jag. Vattnig. Knappast någon beska heller. En konstig metallisk eftersmak.

330ml can @ Kasirin2, Koh Lipe, Thailand. Maybe lighter and not so stale than normal chang 6.4% or maybe only in my thoughts..

330 ml can. BM. BB 28/0/13? I hope that’s production date. From Thailand. Thanks MPEH!
Clear pale golden colour with a tiny white head. The aroma is quite unpleasant with some lactic sweetness, some mild grassy hops and maybe something malt-like. The flavour is paper dryness, mild grassy bitterness and mild tartness... I don’t know if the tartness should be there?

Thanks Kairit! Golden color, small white head. Plastic fruity unaroma. Light bodied. Sweet fruity malty flavor without bitterness. Another industrial lager, not the nastiest one.

A very refreshing beer. Excellent to go down with greasy pizza. However, the quality of this beer seems to be rather unstable.

Big bottle at a bar. This beer is honestly quite interesting and I could see some lame craft brewer like Rogue bringing this out as a stunt because it tastes like highly attenuated two row and nothing else. No offensive off flavours, absolutely no hops that I could discern, literally the simplest beer I can think of. So little flavour I’m surprised it’s all malt but it must just be the lagering yeast and the absence of specialty grain. Interesting stuff.
