Zarkam (336) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 23, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2013 330ml bottle from a hypermarket in Helsinki, clear pale yellow colour with small fizzy fully vanishing white head, virtually no lacing. Light malty aroma of grain and a hint of grassy hops, taste is bittersweet at first turning into a slightly bitter short acetic finish, light to medium body with an oily texture, lively carbonation. Aroma and taste were typical lawnmower beer, but actually the palate was even half decent, so it classifies a bit above the average bulk lager.

Pours dark yellow, light nose of sweetness, malt flavour, some floral and plastic. Not as bad as other Changs. Aaaaand pale lager is once again my most rated style; thanks, Thailand, for bringing the universe into balance!

33cl bottle form Rema as Chang (also in Bangkok as Chang Light). Pours pale golden with a small white head. Sweet and malty aroma with cooked vegetable, garin and almost hopless. Sweet and watery, but drinkable when it is chilled properly. A hint of bitterness in the finish, but pretty much the standard SEA pale lager. It’s quite drinkable in southeast Asia, but close to undrinkable in Norway. Anyway I prefer the real Chang and I don’t know why the bottles looks like the original Chang here.
