4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 dwyerpg (4067) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 20, 2006
Suprised by this low rating. Of this, the peche and the banana, this is the only interesting beer at all. An incredibly sour aroma with some floaties. It has a crazy bite. A rare one-at-a-time type beer. May have gone a little funky but I thought it was pretty decent.
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20 HumuloneRed (751) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 23, 2006
This was new and I thought I’d try it. Not to happy about my choice. It pours a murky light orange with no head or lacing (flat as a board).Somewhat offensive rotting fruit nose. Very tart flavor. Not really apricot but some kind of fruit… Beware
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 duff (5484) - Lund, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2006
Bottle. A bit girly and sweet, with a hint of sourness. MOuthfeel is candy sweet apricot cordial, feeling almost slightly sticky. Pretty crap, but i’ve had worse.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 YourDarkLord (1800) - Urbana, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2006
Clear pale yellow with weak white head. Faint fake apricot aroma. Would never know it’s apricot in a blind tasting. Pathetic.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2006
Amber red body with a small head. Sweet sugary apricot aroma. Flavour is similar candy like fruit like a hard candy. Fruity apricot, is sweet with very light tart finishing notes. Medium saccharine palate. Add some soda water and you would have a decent summer spritzer.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 HogTownHarry (5642) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAY 15, 2006
Bottle (250ml). At Smokeless Joe, shared with jerc. Slightly hazy amber pour, nondescript white head. What can I say? This smells like slightly yeasty, very sugary apricot marmelade - the aroma is more pleasantly tangy than the flavour, which is cloying sweet, and the apricot seems less real. Sticky, candyish, syrupy fairly flat mouthfeel - if you need a sugar fix, this is your drink.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - MAY 7, 2006
Bottle: Cloudy darker gold, short white head. Strange aroma of cheddar, dust and rotting fruit. Sweetish apricot notes, but more just brown sugar and balsamic vinegar. Not good.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 23, 2006
Bottled 25 cl (BB 10/2007)
Golden color, not much head. Sourish, sugary fruity nose, not sure if it is apricot or what. Sugary sweet, slightly earthy and acidy, hints of apricot and honey. Too sweet but not so overly sweet than Chapeau’s mirabelle or banana.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2006
Bottle. Pours a hazy copper gold color with a minimal white head. Aroma of fruit, sugar, and sour notes. Flavor is sweet, fruity, carbonated, overly sweet, with a tart sour finish. I am not a fan of this style but that might be because i haven’t sampled a good lambic yet. However it was drinkable, and not a dumper, but id never purchase another.
