1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Note: Sampled while suffering a severe SMS syndrome. (Single-Malt Scotch)
First impression was a startlingly sweet artificiality in the aroma. Like those horrific sugared dried fruit bits that taste mostly like preservatives. Not a bad looking pour...The flavor was really putridly sweet and fake. I KNEW it couldn’t have been the tumbler of Scotch on an empty stomach that made me pass out!

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Crimeny, but this was sweet - and not really in a good way. It looked okay, a hazy orange-yellow with a frothy white head. It smelled like candy that the confectioner imagined might be what apricot tasted like, except that he had never had one before. The flavor was a heavily sugared fruit-like thing, way too sweet. It had a sugary finish, and I was glad it was over.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Lightly hazed dark golden to tan color. Small dense dark cream colored head. Heavy cling peach aroma. Trying to find some malt but only more jam and some light honey. Sweet and smooth on the palate, somewhat surprising with the spritzy sound in my ear. Sweet mild peach, but tending more toward apple flavors. Now this isn’t a bad cider, but a lambic? Get out of town. Actually would rate higher as a cider.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted 27/06/2005. 250ml bottle from Rumble’s, Wellington.
Yellow gold with a tight white head that is small and slowly disappears. Bubbles hang in the glass giving a rather still appearance. Apiricots, sugar, a little sourness and a hint of the apricot stone all on the nose. Sweet with a very mild bitterness, almost like you’re sucking the apricot stone. A touch of sourness in the sweet finish. Light-med mouthfeel with a strange tartness at the back that irritates the back of the nasal passage slightly. Another desert beer, OK this time.

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
(Bottle 25 cl) It’s really either/or with the De Troch fruitbeers. Some are fresh and delicious - others are stickingly sweet and then there are those completely awful. This belongs in the last category. Amber coloured with only a small head. Tart, synthetic and artificial flavors - this really is foul. Not a beer to drink for pleasure. 210598

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Apricot aroma, but also yeast and some barnyard, lambic weirdness. Dark orange, cloudy. Very sweet, with lots of apricot, some sugar, and a light, strange lambic flavor. This beer lacks complexity but what is there is pleasant.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Like all Chapeaus, corked, then crowned, in a green 12.7 0z bottle.
Appearance: clear, bright apricotty hue, bubbling with carbonation, and a brief white head atop.
Aroma: a bit thin, but full of apricot. With De Troch, there’s no fooling around, what you see on the label, fruit-wise, is what you’re gonna get. Straight up, no fooling.
On the palate: very mellow, very light, though tingly with carbonation. Only a touch of tart occasionally intrudes. Flavor is excellent, light sweet, fruity.
Perfect dessert beer, made for coolin’ out after piggin’ out!

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Light apricot aroma but mainly too sweet. Dull amber hazy with white head. Watery with soft carbonation. Weak fruity watery lambic, not much apricot flavor. Fake sweet cereal after.
