Bottle, shared with Finn at the brewery. Clear, golden, bubbly surface. Smell and taste of apricot on syrup. Much more sweet than tart to the finish. Artificial impression. Not for me (Toer de Geuze, Wambeek 01.05.2011).

[Bottle] Not sure what happened to this thing, but this was one of the worst beers I’ve had. The aroma was like sweet apricot, but there was this really sharp, green aroma really similar to jalapeno peppers. The flavor matched the aroma. Two sips and down the drain.

8/6/11. Capped and corked bottle. Horrid apricot colored pour with no head and disgusting giant chunks of yeast unless you’re super careful. The aroma is pure vinegar - apple cider vinegar if I had to pick - with an overly sweet flavor of vinegar, apricot, and downright sugar. I could barely choke this down. My oh my.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is a mix of grain, grass and steamed vegetables. Not the least bit appetizing. Against my better judgment I decided to go ahead and drink the beer. The flavor is heavy on the sugary, sweet apricots with some grain and vegetable notes. The beer is extremely sweet. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a good beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear, orange body with, well, okay... so there’s no head. Who says a beer had to have one anyhow? Smell: Displeasing aroma of spoiled vegetables, mustard seed, and cheap, rotting wood. Any apricot to be found here seems fake at best, and it’s not worth subjecting yourself to the rest of the aroma to find it. Taste: Sweetish, apricot juice flavor is fleeting, as a funkiness that can only be described as trash can juice creeps in and never lets go. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: No thanks times a million! Grab a Cantillon, get yourself a 3 Fonteinen, but do steer clear of this mess.

Dirty-hazy brown with greenish shine; dirty brown slim head. Absolutely disgusting, off-putting nose like rotting vegetables in an equally rotting cardboard box. Faughhh! Thank God it doesn’t taste rotten as well. In fact, it’s like sugarwater flavoured with a slight sourish tinge that is vaguely reminding of citric acid. Nondescript fruity flavour, end is like very poor faro. Light bodied, slight slick texture. I would love (well...) to say that this might well be a bad bottle. Seen "Chapeau"’s reputation, I doubt it.

Dark amber colour. Smells very bad; rotten apricot. Tastes a LITTLE better. Drainpour.

(Bottle 25 cl) It’s really either/or with the De Troch fruitbeers. Some are fresh and delicious - others are stickingly sweet and then there are those completely awful. This belongs in the last category. Amber coloured with only a small head. Tart, synthetic and artificial flavors - this really is foul. Not a beer to drink for pleasure. 210598

Apricot jam aroma. Extremely sweet and artificial flavour. Another terrible fruit beer from De Troch.

Awful disgusting artifiacial sweetener nose with apricot extract. Alcopop of little substance.
