Looks like a murky brown, with a very small head. Aroma is full of vinegar with some sweet. Taste is assailing, like vinegar and sugar, and somewhere in there beer. In fact, repeated tastings are a struggle to overcome the vinegar taste impact and get at some real flavor. Finish is extremely dry.

250 ml. bottle @ home. Obtained from Dranken Geers. BBF 23/12/2015. This is the last beer I still haven’t tried until now from the Chapeau brand. Lightly hazy golden, bubbles only on the sides. Nose is chemicals, huge artificial sweeteners mixed with chemical sourness that could almost be mistaken with minor funk, there is a huge sweetness here which is pure sugar mixed with something that could be interpreted as fruit, I am more inclined to say candied mandarin than apricot. Taste is all chemicals, huge bang of sweetness, hard to pin fruit which makes me think heavily of fruit slices candy as opposed to actual candy, lots of sweeteners with reveal a faint & typical chemical sourness to them that is always common to them, lots of sweetness. Body is chemcial & sugar + sweetener loaded. It isn’t offensive like some sweetened / chemical beers, as a soft drink it is even mildly enjoyable. The clear use of lambic on the front label is an insult to the style & heritage of it.

Bottle . Pours clear blonde, very small ( nearly no ) head . Smell is again, very sweet and harsh . Taste is sweet, earthy fruity / Sweet candy fruit . tiny aspect of lambic funk ( nearly none ) . aftertaste is sugary apricot syrup - kinda thing ... No, we haven’t got a winner here .

Pours clear straw gold color, with a thin 1-finger head that was gone quickly. Aroma was not what I was expecting from other lambics I’ve had. Yeasty funky, with light notes of apricot and wood underneath. Body is light, yet a bit syrupy. Not as effervescent as most other lambics I’ve had. Sweet-tart flavor up front, mixed with yeast and a note of lactic sourness. The flavor becomes identifiable as apricot at the back, mixing with a vanilla wood note.

Couleur dorée orangée, mousse qui disparait. Nez d’abricot fermenté en barrique. Gout de vieux abricots sucrés, notes tanniques et barrique. Bon corps. Fin sucrée acidulée abricots. Moi j’aime vraiment bien.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pours clear dark golden with a thin off white head. Aroma of artificial apricot cordial with cardboard malt and wort. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to light moderate acidic lurking behind the sugar. Light bodied with soft carbonation. This ain’t no Fou...

Een van de mindere abrikozenbieren dat ik al geprobeerd heb, dan hebben ze betere bieren bij chapeau

Helder geel bier zonder schuim. Smaak is zuur en fruitig, Lambic style. Goed te drinken op een warme dag. Etiket is inmiddels gewijzigd.

Liked this a lot more than the notes. Winey in texture and taste with more sweetness than one would hope but I found it to be clean apricot sweetness. Some mild sourness. I enjoyed it.

Bottle from Village de la bière in Strasbourg. Hazy gold pour with no head. Aroma is not too bad, nice sweet apricot aroma, some solventy notes nonetheless, tropical fruit, really soapy. Taste is fruity, light apricot, not much lambic going on, sweet. Palate is pretty much flat, light-med bodied. Bad, but far from as bad as these guys can make it bad.

Clear golden colour, pinkish hue, white head. Aroma of yoghurt, typical De Troch ’spoiled yoghurt’, apricot, sweetener. Fruity flavour, apple, apricot, light sour, sweet hints. Finish sour(ish) apple, lingering sour notes, some yoghurt. Rather enjoyable. The last one of the Chapeau fruit drinks for me.
