3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 caledonian (367) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 4, 2007
Hazy gold color, no head to speak of. Nice banana bread aroma. Taste is more of the same, liquid banana bread. Yes, it’s an unusual beer, but I find it’s really not that bad.

Clear yellow with no head at all. Banana bubble gum style (skumbananer) Violently synthetic & sweet. Very soft & mild body with a very sweet & cloying banana taste.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 blankboy (4287) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2007
Bottle courtesy of biegaman. Banana Lambic? Yikes. Pours a clear pale gold with a spare diminishing white head. Aroma of sweet banana candy, which is nothing like I would want a beer to smell -- giving it 4 for aroma is generous in my opinion. Doesn’t make me anxious to taste it. Flavour: Well I certainly prefer it over the aroma, it’s not as sweet and artificial, it’s still weird though: Like a tart banana along with some citrus, a hint of oak and a dry lightly bitter finish. Light bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. What an odd beer, and not really in a good way. Not something I’d drink again.

dark yellow with very little head. Very sweet but I like that. However I must say this goes out of character of a typical lambic - my wife enjoys it though!

(Bottle) Pours a dark yellow color with a foamy white head. Sweet banana aroma. Taste is very similar, but it is quite sweet. I think that the sample that I tried was small enough so it wasn’t overwhelming. Not a whole lot of lambic character to it, but I didn’t think it was bad at all.

25cl, 3.5% a/v
Pours a light gold colour with a very small white head. Smells like bananas and brown sugar, Tastes like bananas too but bittersweet. Very unusual. The palate is bitter bananas as well. Its an interesting beer but not something to be drinking often.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 mmmbeer (987) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 28, 2007
Poured yellow color with faint head. Strong aroma of bananas, very faint malt. Not sour at all, heavy banana taste, with carbonation after taste. Why the ranking so high? I like bananas- desert beer all the way.

I opened this and it immediately made me think of a slushy machine. There is this guy at work who brings in slushy machines on hot days, and his banana flavoured slushies smell just like this. Maybe he adds Chappeau Banana to it. A slight red tinge to a generic yellow pour. Bubbly head, even though the description says no head. An up close smell has a lot more then just that ’banana flavouring scent" I swear it smells of plastic and old glue. Uber thick and sweet! Oh my gods. It’s like when we were in university and used to sneak the syrup containers out of the soda fountains. Tastes more like something from Willy Wonka then a real beer. Reading the ingredients this makes sense as they read: Beer, Bananas, Sugar and Flavour. So I’m not even rating a beer, I’m rating some messed up concoction that contains ’beer’. Beer should never list beer as an ingredient. I do have to admit this is about %356 better then Chappeau Exotic (sp).
