4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ Home. Full 37.5cl sample. tht oct 2013. The aroma has citrus, horseblanket. Bit hazy, orange coloured beer with a thin, bit off-white head. The taste is moderate sour, has citrus, some acetic sourness, light lactics more in aftertaste. Tart, refreshing, with some oak tones flolloping around the tongue. Nice. Definitely one of the best Lambic breweries of Belgium.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a 375 ml bottle.
Aroma has a medium light herbal, barnyard funk with some light citrus and stone fruit. Hints of malt with some light acidity. Light oak.
Pours a slightly hazy, gold with a medium large, white head that quickly disappears. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is slightly sweet with a moderate acidity. Acidity is lactic with some citrus and a hint of acetic acid. Some light tropical fruit notes including pineapple. Light oak notes. A hint of an herbal quality. Medium light funk.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty decent geuze. Some nice fruit notes with lighter funk and oak. Balanced acidity. Better than I was expecting.

Goudkleurig bier met fijne witte schuimkraag.
Typische oude geuze die zijn naam eer aan doet!
Zurig in de mond met een droge afdronk.
Zomers verfrissend en authentiek!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear golden body with a medium fizzy, yet smooth white head. Aroma is bretty barnyard notes, hay, lactic sour hints, cellar mold, cork, blue cheese, wood and hints of citrus and dry bread. Taste is biting sour lactic acid tones, apple vinegar, citrus, cellar mold, hay, stable funk and hints of grape peel and earthy leaves far in the back. Light body, soft to medium carbonation. Wow, can’t believe this is another geuze from De Troch; it’s like day and night compared to the crappy Chapeau Gueuze. Really sour, quite funky and with a cellar/blue cheese twist. Not the most amazing geuze I’ve had, but certainly drinkable.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the 24th Weekend Of Spontaneous Fermentation. This was surprisingly one of my favourites of the weekend. I find it odd how low it rates on here. Pours a murky Yellow with a White head. Nice and tart with a touch of wood. Funky and lemony. Quite a dramatic Geuze. It has everything in beautiful proportion. I absolutely loved it.
