Bottle. Pours a clear golden body with a medium fizzy, yet smooth white head. Aroma is bretty barnyard notes, hay, lactic sour hints, cellar mold, cork, blue cheese, wood and hints of citrus and dry bread. Taste is biting sour lactic acid tones, apple vinegar, citrus, cellar mold, hay, stable funk and hints of grape peel and earthy leaves far in the back. Light body, soft to medium carbonation. Wow, can’t believe this is another geuze from De Troch; it’s like day and night compared to the crappy Chapeau Gueuze. Really sour, quite funky and with a cellar/blue cheese twist. Not the most amazing geuze I’ve had, but certainly drinkable.

Bottle at the 24th Weekend Of Spontaneous Fermentation. This was surprisingly one of my favourites of the weekend. I find it odd how low it rates on here. Pours a murky Yellow with a White head. Nice and tart with a touch of wood. Funky and lemony. Quite a dramatic Geuze. It has everything in beautiful proportion. I absolutely loved it.

Salmoniform (1221) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - JUN 2, 2015
2014 poured from 375mL to glass. Golden hue with white head that immediately dissipated. Aroma is peppercorn, straw, sweat, lactic. Mouthfeel is a bit lacking with a medium body and extremely faint carbonation. Taste is sweet with a tart following. Overall this is an ok brew.

02.06.2015, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is very strange, old moldy potatoe cellar, boiled vegetables, wet hay, weeds, minerals, paper. Taste is sour-ish dry, soda powder, sorrel, citrus acid, minerals, oak, old moldy cellar, hay. Medium bitterness, sour-ish dry mouthfeel. Crap!

12.7 oz bottle labeled as De Troch Oude Gueuze (2014). Poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy golden yellow with 1.5 fingers of off-white head. Aromas of barnyard funk, lemons, tart acidic notes. Tastes of barnyard funk, tart acidic notes, lemons, a bit of tropical fruit, light floral notes. Medium-light body with a very dry finish.

375ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours hazy gold with thin minimal head. Quite an original gueuze, presenting raw coxes apples and dusty pear tree orchard flavours against an oude gueuze sourness. Works exceptionally well. Lovely stuff.

Had as Oude Gueze, thanks Fry Dog .. . Pours s hazy yellow .. Strong foam presence.. Medium tartness, wet hay, mild light wood, and a happy barnyard .. . Silky mouth, very well balanced. I could actually drink a whole bottle without my teeth dissolving.. . Fantastic Gueze .. . . Using a mop as a wig really doesn’t work as well as the cartoons say..

I love this beer, the smell is flora notes, the taste is honey, sweet fruity with a tangy, citrus after taste. Love it.

Pours clear gold into a tumbler. White head with little retention recedes to nothing. Dusty grape, hay and sour summer fruit aromas. Tart with a hint of caramel upfront turning quickly to grapefruit pith and lemon through the lasting finish.
