3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2004
Cloudy orange coloured, small head. Pleasant tart aroma, typical gueuze. Flavour lacks complexity though. Finishes nice, initially very sour, but then goes on to be more watery and sweet, fruity even. Nice, but not the best lambic out there.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2004
I am not a fan of the style, so don't pay too much attention to my rating. Interesting bottle with both a top and cork. Unpleasant aroma, acidic finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 5, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 5, 2003 1999 bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly yeasty (barnyard), lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of lemon and grape.
Flavor is moderately sweet, harshly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet,
harshly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Whew, this is one sour bugger...overly so. It doesn't seem to have much character.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kåstå (1221) - Mol, BELGIUM - DEC 21, 2002
Typical geuze aroma with some fruit. A fairly mild geuze with lovely buttery palate.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerLimey (2135) - California, USA - JUL 29, 2002
Sour indications in the nose instantly jump out. I had to get a second opinion to confirm I was smelling cheese. Smooth not overly carbonated on the palate. Some sweetness in the flavor, but again an aged cheesiness. Perfect match for the cheese niblets they served on the side.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrBeer (825) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2002
hazy red-orange lambic with a grey tone. The nose i flowery with tones of cellar (Dust, mold etc.) and honey.
The flavour is full of bluecheese and creamcheese notes with a sour finish.
A bit unusual for a lambic but a really good one nonetheless
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 30, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2005 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival, called De Troch Cuvée Chapeau Lambic (5.0%).
Golden hazy. Punching aroma of crayfish decoction!?! (Salty dill and seafood). Fruity and sweaty. Medium sweet with some acidity, bizarre sweaty crayfishes in chinese sweet & sour sauce. Not your everyday beer...
