why the cork AND the cap? it’s rotten, anyway. eww. aroma of sweet tropical creme. way too sweet. it’s sick! this is... ugh. usually the beers i have that are bad are wack in the sense of a yeast infection or sourness, but this is just sick pineapple sweetness from 7th hell! drainpour! eww... tastes like nasty sweet juice in a filet cheesnon.

Pineapple and passion fruit dominate the aroma. Orange with sediment. Sweet, light pineapple and other fruit flavors. Light; good for sipping. I know this isn’t the way lambic should be, but I like it anyway.

Bottled. Pale orange with short head, hazed. False cosmetic flavours dominate this unlikely mixture. Sweet, cloying, clingy and cheap. Pineapple is better from the fruitbowl.

Appearance: clear, pale orange color, highly carbonated, short, fizzy head. Aroma: intensely powerful, bubblegum, and pineapple, a candied sweetness, and a touch of sour. On first sip, treacly sweet, thick and chewy, pineapple is felt, but only underneath all the sugar. Tastes rather flat and gummy. Light body, sticky mouthfeel, and short, though slightly cloying finish. Flavor, just to start with, lacks quite a bit. Sadly, one of the lesser offering from De Troch. They could have pulled this one off, but lost it somewhere. Yup, I’m still searching for that stellar pineapple lambic!

Sweet aroma of pineapple and coconut, mango. Like one of those Lifesaver flavors. Very fruity and enjoyable. Dull amber clear with thin white lacing head. Watery body with light-medium carbonation. Fruity start, with flavors of pineapple, coconut, mango, and light hops. Medium acidity throughout with a weak watery sweetness. Finish is sweet-acidic, watery. After has that fake cereal sweetness, like the after of Cap’n Crunch.

Peachy orange-yellow. Thin white head. Very sweet (sugary) pineapple aroma w/ faint notes of sour apple & perhaps even some wood & barnyard. Sugary, syrupy feel. Very sweet, cloying pineapple juice flavour w/ candied apple & strawberry notes.

Bright golden body. White fizzy head, instantly diminishing. Very strong pinapple flavour, hints of real lambic. Tastes like pineapple-juice. Just another (bad) Chapeau Lambic-sirupe combination.

Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 1, 2004
A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sour with notes of wood and sweet malt and only hints of pineapple - a very promising aroma for a Chapeau. But the good promises from the aroma is destroyed by tasting it, because the flavor is way too sweet and dominated totally by pineapple - it tastes like a pineapple sodapop - since the carbonization prickles the tongue.

Light yellow beer with a disappearing white head. Mostly sweet aroma but with a slight sourness. Tones of pineapple and (wet) wood. Extremely sweet flavor (like most Chapeaus!) of artificial pineapple and sugar. Dry end. This is even worse than most of the other Chapeau so-called-lambics.....

Bottle. Pale gold. Musty pineapple aroma with white chocolate notes and a bit of vanilla. Pleasantly sweet with the faintest bit of acid to clear the throat. Very gulpable and very nice.
