1997: Dull pineapple taste. Light and watery. I’m becoming disinterested rather quickly.

These de Troch things are silly! This one was from a 1997 vintage bottle. It had the nose and taste of 2 vanilla wafers dipped into a can of pineapple juice and eaten with a slice of brown over-ripened banana between them.

A very bizarre beer - starts with a sweet pinapple taste, then has a mint afertaste. Not great, but I liked it nonetheless.

Virtually no head. Body is hazy dark yellow, dense particles of all
sizes. Aroma is lightly yeasty (mold), with notes of sugar/taffy and
assorted tropical fruits (banana, pineapple, mango, etc.). Flavor is
heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic.
Light to medium body, watery (almost syrupy) texture, lively
carbonation. Disgustingly sweet, artificial aroma.

Overwhelming aroma of sweet pineapples. Very, very sweet and sour taste. A decent lambic is used, but is extremely over powered by pineapple, pineapple and more pineapple.. O.K. for sweet tooths and lambic beginners. Too much for me!
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 25, 2002
Bottle says best before 1999 but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. Faint cloudy orange honey colour and almost no head. Light fruit and stronger old sand shoe gueuze sour, rum and raisins, toffee and volatile hydrocarbon aromas. Texture and palate reminiscent of and over the hill white wine - but it’s still interesting enough to rate. Light soft gueuzy sour, stronger sweet pineapple, pawpaw and sweet apple cider flavours. This bottle probably lost most of it’s sour component some time ago. A fresh bottle would definitely be worth rating for comparative purposes.

Full banana nose and pungent. Light gold color, slighlty hazed. Sweet, sugary taste powered by fruit - banana, lemon, maybe peach. Complex, but thin. Interesting, but too fruity and sweet. Needs to be much more sour.

Nose contains banana, peach, lemon. Nice appearace: golden with a white head sprinkeld with particles of banana. Suprinsingly not to sweet banana taste. Fizzy refreshing beer with a long lasting aftertaste. Nice but a little bit weak, could be more hops in it.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 ravidesai (916) - Bombay, INDIA - APR 21, 2002
sugar and more sugar.
there is a fruit taste but it is hard tro determine what fruit is used. without reading the label i would have guessed stale bananas.
the pineapple taste is very mild and does not add to the drink.
lacks the tart and sharp yeast taste that make lambics complex and worth drinking.

Orange coloured. Super sweet. A perfect clone of the artificial pineapple juice I used to drink when I was younger.
