Pours red with a noticably pronounced pink head into the Belle Vue glass I sampled this in. Smells of strawberry puree, some tarte hints and lambicy elements that were there but definitely not pronounced. Tastes of strawberries with an underlying sourness and some dry tarte lambicy qualities. More interesting than I thought it would be. Thanks to dragonstout for this sample.

bottle from toft vin. cloudy red, smooth offwhite to pinkish head. sweet strawberries, lambic and faint rubber in the aroma. Initially it seemed quite sour, but after a little while it seemd to be pretty fruity sweet. flavor is lambic, tart strawberries, quite tart and sour for its kind, faint bitter woody note, faint rubber, pretty decent strawberry lambic.

Bottle. Aroma earthy-funky with lots of prune character. Flavor lightly tart with fairly artificial though not really unpleasant strawberry character. I guess the juice worked ok for me despite tasting obviously wrong. Kinda weird overall.

Bottle. Glad I’m not on the scavenger hunt. Rated in American English. Murky reddish brown color, scant head. Aroma of fruit and lemon. Taste is not too sweet and not too sour. Exceeded my expectations.

12 oz corked and capped bottle. Murky pink brown, with a tan head. This one is more like a lambic than the Framboise, at least from this bottle. Soured strawberry aroma, and yes it is sour. Sour strawberry flavor, leaning sour, more than sweet. This is decent and not overly sweet, and the strawberry flavors are not as pronounced as to make it too much of a girly drink.

Who on Earth doesn’t like strawberries? Just as I expected, nobody, that’s who! Color here is a pale red, very strawberryish, with virtually no head. Carbonation is high. Aroma: all strawberry, nuttin’ else! Maybe, if we need to describe it further, I’d offer up a touch of mustiness. On the palate, a huge charge at first, a little from hops, but mostly carbonation. And the flavor? Strawberry, all the way! Tasty, zingy, zippy, a real treat for the tongue. Body is medium/light, hops and malt don’t really enter into this brew too much. It’s just strawberry!!! But it’s done very well, and is quite tasty and flavorful, while still being a real beer. Petered out a tad at the end, feeling a little flat. Maybe a 12.7 oz bottle is too much for this beer. We only need a taste for our dessert...

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2005 Vintage 2000: Pouring a hazy yellow/straw color, this has a very strong fresh strawberry aroma. The flavor is clean and fruity, strawberries with hints of other added fruits. The finish is tart and refreshing. A good Summer drink.

Standard Cheapeau. Fruit. Sweet with lots of yeast. No particular kind of fruit is recognizable, certainly not strawberry. But I do like the massive amount of yeast and the sweetness, for a dessert beer.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy cloudy pink with hardly any carbonation. Aroma is sweet and tart sugary strawberries and yeast . Flavor is sweet a little sour, but mainly tart strawberries and light wine cork. Palate is medium and chalky with a slightly acidic drying finish. Very drinkable and not over powering. I like it!
