2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TBone (9096) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 21, 2006
Bottled 25cl, alc. 3.5% (BB 10/2007)
Dark deep red, not much head. Tart, slighlty sugary rasberry aroma. Sweet and sugary but tart too, acidic in the finish. Rasberry flavors dominate of course. Not so artifical, but too sweet.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheBeerGod (3960) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - MAR 24, 2006
Bottle - capped and corked. Pours clouded ruby with a small light pink head. Nose is mostly sweet - raspberry jam, soured raspberry and strawberries, and some sugary notes. Taste is sugary and sweet for the most part but does have a bit of tartness to it. More raspberry jam, some preserve notes, and obviously sugary notes. Body is tart with mild acidic notes and light dryness. Finishes sweet with light tart fruits and rapsberry jam. It’s not a traditional lambic, and everyone knows it, but I like this and it seems to work. I think it would go great with cheesecake.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2006
Pour a hazy dark red with a minimal pink head, aroma of fermented fruit and sweetness. Flavor is citrusy raspberries, a little too sweet, with a funky finish, not horrible, but nothing great.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 hair-old (166) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 24, 2006
Raspberry lambic at its finest.Once deported by All-Saints in
Minnesota,
now deported by Noble Union in Texas.
I was happy to see this brew in the
liquor store again. Not even New Glarus
can touch this.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kinz (2694) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - DEC 23, 2005
Medium amber, hint of pink, definitely some pink in the head. Aroma of raspberry syrup. Flavor matched, although there was a touch of acidity that tried to balance it out a bit. This was overwhelmingly fruit syrup, and easily bested by Lindeman’s if that is the style you are going for. Wouldn’t be bad over pancakes though.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 NYHarvey (2153) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2005
Lovely raspberry bouquet. very big aroma. Purple/red with a pinky thick pink head. Delicious sweet raspberry with a touch of oak and nice creaminess. I think it tastes fantastic though I can see why some would find it much too sweet. I think the acidity in the finish balances that well enough.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - AUG 7, 2005
Bottled. Dark cloudy red with no head. Sweet raspberry syrup aroma with a hint of vinegar. Sweet, fruity taste. The raspberry taste is somewhat odd, maybe artificial and there is some vinegar in the finish. Not my kind of framboise.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Papsoe (21782) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 23, 2005
(Bottle 25 cl) Dark red with almost no head at all. Very, very sweet with a vague underlying sweetness from the Lambic. Artificial and sticky - and very raspberrish. But not a great Framboise. 230300
