Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pours clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of leather, vinegar, rotten old fruits made into some kind of obnoxious candy and an old wet sock on a stick. Flavor is over moderate sweet and light moderate acidic. Some dustiness coming out in the palate along with the gross sweet rotten fruit notes. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I cannot recommend this gueze, apart from to my drain.

Very faint yellow color and a short lived white head, plenty of carbonation and a constant flow of bubbles to the top. The aroma is somewhat acidic but with clear notes of sweet fruit, cider and something metallic. The taste is surprisingly sweet due to the added sugar and slightly fruty and acidic - a bit of barnyard sensation when it gets warmer. Dry and somehow similar to cider. Would probably work as some kind of aperitif before dinner, but as a straight up gueuze it is not what I would expect.

Een lekkere geueze, niet vernieuwend van smaak maar gewoon degelijk zoals een geueze hoort te zijn

mcberko (6873) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 14, 2014
250mL bottle at Delices et Caprices, pours a clear dark copper with a small white head. Nose smells more like a faro, with candied sugar, feet, and some barn notes. Flavour is similar, bringing out a mix of feet and candied sugars. Far from an authentic lambic, but also far from the atrocity that is Lindemans Gueuze. Might be good to try to get people into the style as a gateway, but it’s far from exquisite.

TrefwoordPunk (818) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 29, 2014
Bottle 25 cl. Pours amber with a medium white head and an aroma of sourness, apple, artificial fruit aroma and sweetness. The taste has far more sugar than any other gueuze I know, some sourness and some slight dryness in the finish. This is a pretty bad gueuze, but I would still take this over almost any pilsener or pale lager. I wish I lived in a Belgian town where this type of beer is the stuff you can drink everyday in all the pubs around town.

Bottle (250 ml). Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Slightly hazy brown-ish copper with a light ring of off-white bubbly foam and little lacing. Aroma is dominated by garbage juice and rotten fruits with some caramel when it open up. Considering how bad is the aroma, these guys are good because they were able to make the taste even more worst and include a more concentrated garbage juice presence to balance the sh*tty huge caramel/brown sugar that everyone except from a Gueuze. Medium body. Low carbonation. How often can you say that Chapeau Banana isn’t the worst thing you have drank during a tasting?

Bottle. Clear copper pour with no head. Aroma of caramel, rotten grain, rotten hay, dust, old varnished wood. Taste is absolutely disgusting. Wow, my mind was blown by how horrible this tasted - banana and exotic actually warn you with a horrible aroma, this smelled only bad but tasted like death. Palate is flat, and sweet. Do they really use de troch lambic for this stuff? (I like de troch lambic...)

delorian (57) - budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 19, 2014

Clear darker yellow with white foam head. Quite sparkling. Aroma is little sour, apples. Taste nice sour gueuze, you realy have to get used to this taste every time. (Brussels 201405)

bartlebier (1873) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - APR 11, 2014
37,5 bottle from De Biergrens - bb09/2015. Open ominously plop-less, pours even more ominously quasi-flat and brackish, with a damp apple sauce glare to it. Aroma of old rhubarb compote, basement must and mouldy wood, rotten peaches, balsamic vinegar: most of it making a spent and tired impression.Taste is same, with a distinct white sugar note (label mentions added sugar) bringing back the rhubarb compote to apple sauce. MF has some carbonation after all, but is dampened by sticky sugars. This sweetened 80’s style geuze-lambic crossover comes with the aura of an abandoned roadside café and is not likely to convert the masses to the style (De Troch’s real lambic being a crossover between lambic and bottom shelf balsamic vinegar at the other spectrum).
