Dec 19, 2004 Strange beer indeed. Its "aroma" reminds mostly of vinegar, it pours no head at all, and its body is hazy dark brownish. As for the taste, I am lucky they added sugar, because the underlying sourness would have been too much to finish the bottle. I did finish the bottle, though, but I don’t think I’ll have another of this one.

Nov 5, 2004 Tart fruity soy sauce acidic aroma, low malt. Dark amber (almost brown) clear with thin off-white head. Medium watery body with almost no carbonation. Starts stale and sweet, light malts, fruity sourness that’s weak. Light metallic watery paper-like staleness. Horrible.

Jul 3, 2004 I guess I’ve been a bit spoiled for lambics up to now as a I have stuck to "the real thing". This manifestly is not the real thing. Hazy bronze pond water appearance. Very slight woody vinegar edge on the nose, but that’s about as close to a proper gueuze as it gets. The aroma is dominated by caramel and candy sugar. No barnyard here. Although there is some tartness on the palate, it could hardly be called sour. Whatever flavours there are battered into submission by a sticky, cloying sweetness. There is a synthetic tasting pear drop and cough medicine undertone. This tastes more like a sweetened farmyard cider, or even apple juice, than a gueuze to me and there’s simply not enough acidity to cut through the sweetness. Nor good. This should bump my gueuze average rating down a bit. 250ml bottle from beersofeurope.co.uk. BBE date illegible.

May 22, 2004 Amber color. Aroma of malt, Porto wine, sweet. Very sweet taste, with peculiar wine notes (common Porto wine). It’s not a Gueuze, I should not like it, but I do!

Dec 15, 2003 No head what so ever (I poured it 20cm from the glass!!). Mud coloured body. The nose is yeast and fruit (reminds me of Champagne...!!). The taste is awful!! Sour, acid and vinegar....

Nov 28, 2003 Non existing head. Yeasty fruity flavour (hints of vinegar?). Medium sour taste with fruity finish (apple) going over in sweeter aftertaste.
