Pour is a pale yellow with a thin white bubbly head. The nose has a faint note of dust and some light apple juice, maybe some golden fruit. Taste is the same, almost no funk, apple juice, golden grapes, a bit syrupy and fairly sour. Medium to full body, syrupy and coating, a bit viscous with a dry finish.

Strange beer indeed. Its "aroma" reminds mostly of vinegar, it pours no head at all, and its body is hazy dark brownish. As for the taste, I am lucky they added sugar, because the underlying sourness would have been too much to finish the bottle. I did finish the bottle, though, but I don’t think I’ll have another of this one.

Gold-amber gold with a white head. Big bubbles. Some acidity in the nose and a strange process cheese flavour come through. Very sweet little commercial gueuze that is not very good.

Garrafa. Coloração âmbar, sem creme. Parece chá. Notas adocicadas e salgadas, predominando as primeiras. Falta gosto e características de cerveja. Carbonatação baixíssima.

Beltramelli (471) - Campinas, BRAZIL - NOV 30, 2007
Aroma horroroso, mas paladar bem interessante, suave, refrescante. Lembra muito as Faro. Faltou malte e lúpulo. Carbonatação zero, doce e sem creme.

Hazy amber, honey color with white head. Sour lemony aroma with leather character. The flavor is less sour and sweet than the Chapeau Faro. Moderate sweet honey, molasses, caramel flavors initially. Citrus, pineapple tartness at the medium. Slightly sour finish with rough horse blanket or leather? yeasty character. Light to medium bodied with yeasty texture and soft carbonation. Strange, but still enjoyable.

Poor effort, actually quite unpleasant. Murky amber with a large head. Aroma of dark sugar and and lambic sourness. Flat flavour, sugar, sharp citrus and finishes sour.

I made the mistake of thinking I was getting a "De Troch Gueuze" when I accepted Chapeau. It was not a good mistake ... this beer was off-color with syrupy aromas and the odor (and flavor) of grape-based apple-cider with a dark syrup added for flavor. Not an enjoyable experience. Oh yeah ... its color was very odd ... greenish murky maple syrup is the only way to describe it ... maybe it was the light. And was that worcestershire sauce in the background? I wanted an AMERICAN Budweiser after having this.

Another one I had so long ago I don’t remember the exact details of. It tasted like grape juice, or a low alcohol wine. Not necessarily a bad thing though!

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2010 Unclear yellow/brown coloured. No head at all. Vinegar and fruits in the nose. Enjoyable and a little bit weird.
