oh this smells right. hints of oak and vanilla, sour and alcohol with a faint and strange tropical hue. Smells sweeter than Cantillon but is actually less sweet and less sour. Flat and redolent with Brett. Yes, I’m surprised at how good this is (especially at $.99 a pop on sale) for this brewer however I’ve had much better. I’ve had an amazing fruit lambic from de Troch, too.

1997 VERSION: Distinct barnyard odors and nice mustiness. Nose was a winner... on par with the best of the gueuzes. Grassy taste did take away from some of the taste. Overall, it was nice and complex with a great sour ending.

Bottle. 375cl Vintage 199?. Clear light to medium amber - orange color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, barnyard - horse blanket, wood, dust, some hops and oak. Flavor is moderate acidic snd light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (070308)

Not bad. Nice oak and hops aroma. Golden colour. Sweet and sour. Not too sweet. Some oak and apples. Finishes a bit more hoppy.

Bottled: Unclear yellow/brown coloured. No head at all. Vinegar and fruits in the nose. Lots of apple in the flavour. Very sweet and some faint notes of sourness. Not very wellbalanced beer, but still quite fresh.

Non existing head. Yeasty fruity flavour (hints of vinegar?). Medium sour taste with fruity finish (apple) going over in sweeter aftertaste.

Interesting to drink, smelt like an Oak barrell, and that characteristic certainly came through in its taste, apart from that i thought it was more sweet than sour, with apply fruit and a port or sherry characteristic, it wasn’t bad, but i preffer more sourness in my Geuezes.
