Description: Since many decades, the brewers of the Senne valley are brewing Lambic. In the 19th century they have created several fruit beers. The cherry beer on base of Lambic was the first or one of the first. The Chapeau Kriek is made on base of Lambic, a artisanal traditional product which ripe on oaken barrels. The Chapeau Kriek is a fresh and delicious beer for delightful moments.

Bottle at THT. Murky dark pink with no head. Looks like tomato juice. Massive sweet cherries, sour red berries, dough, light puke, soft balsamico. Over medium sweet and light sour. Medium bodied with barely any carbonation. Weird and bad, but better than most Chapeaus.

Strong essence of Cherries clearly coming though on the nose Pours Deep Red and cloudy much like a Wheatbeer One dimensional taste of Cherry syrup, but enjoyable... I call this a Jewsons beer... Does what I says it does on the tin!

Pretty cloudy reddish brown beer, irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: very artificial cherry candy, yeast, bit dirty. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet sugary start, artificial candy, syrupy. Aftertaste: sweet, syrupy, candy.

(1) Never again. I love cherries - I did not taste cherries in this one - almost like the cork had ruined the lambic. What a shame.

slight pinkish head. murky mauve colour. aroma is candysweetness, syrup cherries and then some paint thinner like smell, like terpentine or resin from pineneedles. taste is the same as the aroma, sweet, weird taste and afterteste. i had to try it, it was a strong urge, but is this stuff toxic? unlike any other kriek, thats for sure :) bottle 33cl
