Amazing candy apple red colour with a good orange pink head. Cheap kriek syrup aroma. The flavour is a lot better. Yes it’s still cheap candy and syrup but the flavours are actually quite decent. That’s all I can say though. It’s a kriek, a crap one, but it’s drinkable. I’m done.

Sep 14, 2008 Bouteille de 250 ml. Dégusté avec french tickler.
Une biere de couleur ruby-rouge avec un mince collet moyennement collant. Odeur de cerises tres intense, alcohol, bonbon rouge et un peu les fraises. Gout sure de cerises.

Jan 17, 2006 Brick red muck. Compact pinkish head. Nose is dominated by paint and medicinal cherry aromatics. Touch of musty concrete. Softly carbonated. Soggy, heavily sweet frontal notes of cherries which is entirely one-dimensional. Flabby sweetness steadily climbs and the sparse acidity fails to allay the aggressiveness of it. No complexity, whatsoever. Finishes just as it started, only with the faintest note of iron swirled with a strawlike malt accent as the temperature rises. A “kriek lambic” eh? Back to the drawing board because this is borderline abominable.

Sep 1, 2003 Hazy red, pink-coloured head, little but lacey. Horrible smell of cabbage and bananaester. Sweet, artificial cherry smell. Puking sweet taste as of maraschino-cherries. Retronasal some aroma of almonds - a cherrykernel gone AWOL? Sticky mouthfeel, not even refreshing. Simply terrible - and to think he makes REAL kriek too!

Feb 25, 2007 Astonishingly, not 100% sweet. Sweet in the front, yes. Sweet in the end, yes. But--but!--a slight hint of tart sourness nestled somewhere in the middle. To be sure, it’s not much, but it’s there. Also less artificial-tasting in the fruit department than other de Troch beers.
