12 oz. bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured deep red, almost purplish with creamy pink head. Nose of strong, sweet cherries. Tastes almost like a cherry cough drop, but one of those good ones that taste like candy. Black cherry flavor evident as well. Much better than the reviews here would have you believe. I’m not sure what others expect, this beer delivers what it says on the label.

Rich. Quite strong cherry, enhanced by some oak notes, over a firm underpinning of typical Lambic sourness. Dark red, minimal head.

Taste is cherry artificial, colour cloudy purple. Very drinkable. Tastes like a very good refreshment on hot sommerdays.

Oh, this is nice. Has some Christmas spices throughout, perhaps nutmeg. Probably the best of the chapeau bunch I’ve had, thought they aren’t all that wonderful.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pigfoot (2267) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 27, 2004
Tiny, but bubbly head, deep cherry red color, (naturally). Straightforward aroma of cherries, both sweet and sour. Very light in body and texture, with an incredible amount of sourness on the palate, which diminishes, leading toward a sweetish finish. Very mellow and pleasant, simple and satisfying. Not an extraordinary lambic, but solid example.

A pretty winy fruitbeer - amazing done with only 3,5% alcohol! The smell is obviously with a lot of cherrys, but it sometimes can seem a little artificial - it reminds me a lot like cheap cherry wine with a lot of additives. The taste is at first kind of sour, but then it becomes sweeter, just like real cherries. It has a medium body, and it is really great for the low alcohol percentage. The beer can seem a little too sugary, but it doesn’t matter too me - i think it gives a good balance with the sourness. The beer is obviously refreshing allthough it is dry, and it might be unfiltrered. Anyway, there’s something in the bottom of the glass that might be yeast remnants.

Sweet, cherry flavoured, soft and easy drinking beer with a refreshing bite of acidity to cut through the sugar. There’s plenty happening. This is not a boring beer. This is not a simple beer. This is a delicious beer. Go on, cut off your nose to spite your face and moan and bitch about how it isn’t a genuine authentic lambic. I’ve had plenty of beers which were much more boring than this. Forget your style guides, unbutton your starch collar, and enjoy this fun and very tasty brew.
