2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 daknole (5853) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 1, 2009
Another overly sweet beer from this brewery. Sugary sweet. Maybe not as bad as others, but still this is over the top.

Bottled. Poured clear apple juicy-yellow with a dusting and a loose ring of white head. The aroma was very sweet with plum juice and mild vinegar as the driving forces.. very sweet, but non-offensive. The nose did not deceive me… very sweet plum juice at the core with a lightly tart back-end.. as I felt the diabetes rising, the score kept going down. Lighter-bodied and waaaaay to sweet on the palate with too long of a finish.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2005 Vintage 2000: Hazy pale yellow and headless, this lambic is somewhat stinky in a closed barn kind of a way. But the light-bodied drink has a light, fruity taste (hard to tell it’s plum) with a touch of the sour in the finish. Rather pleasant.

Very sweet plum and melon aroma. Hazy, honey color, white head, good lace. Very very sweet, plum, artificial, bread. Short finish. I tried to judge it as a fruit lambic but I can’t. So I just rated it as a drink (any).
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2011
Shared from a bottle at the brewery. Clear golden, filmy white layer. Artificial plum syrup to the nose and taste buds. Too much fructose even for a soft drink (Toer de Geuze, Wambeek 01.05.2011).

Wide capped green 375mL pours murky copper colored grapefruit juice with off white head. The aroma offers up moldy oak notes, sugary syrupy fruitiness and mild tartness at the end of the draw. The taste is pretty darn sweet with sugary plum juice, table sugar, some plum sweet/tart candy and a sense of sugar coated oak. It does have a pretty solid sense of plum fruitiness which I enjoy. Overall I can’t get over the sweetness and at the same time mild levels of tartness biting at the edge of my tongue. Hmm.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 heemer77 (4792) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 9, 2005
Cloudy yellow colored body with a thin and persistent head. The aroma is a little musty with some moss and a little bit of honey. The plum aroma is fairly light and more like prunes. The taste is sweet honey with some light raisins. There is just a hint of hay. This is very light overall. Refreshign for hot weather, if nothing else.

Yum yum! This slides down so soft and sweet with a scintilating fruit tang and a shivery little fizz that it’s gone before you know it. You are then left bereft as a howling naked orphan wanting more.
