1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - NOV 6, 2004
It’s been awhile since i’ve tried one on these way too sweet fake-lambics, but as it turned out it was a stupid idea to think it would be any good. Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, small head. Very sirupy and sweet, cloying. Gets worse with every sip. Absolutely horrible.

It is fruity allright. But it is very artificial and sour in an unpleasant way. Rotten finish, the fruits (or extract) must be too old.

Extremely sweet with cloying flavour over prunes.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - JUL 4, 2007
Appearance: Orange and turbid color. Without head.
Aroma: To plums but very artificial (it is common in the chapeau’s beers). Sweet with tones of vanilla, candy, flowers, apricots.
Flavor: worse than the aroma, artificial taste of plums, apricots and vanilla. Reminiscences of honey and candy. Is similar to a lolly-pop. Very sweet.
Palate: Medium carbonation. Very light body and watery.
Worse than the Kriek beer!. Lambic, fruit beer, beer?.
(sorry for my english)
0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUN 11, 2006
12 oz bottle from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN (Dec 2005), undated but both label and cork have seen better days, poured at cellar temperature into a Lindemans glass. Dirty, gauzy yellow-gold with some lasting bubble action, moderate slow-receding white head....nose is really unpleasant, rotting old dried fruits in the sun, plastic, cheap powdery sugars and just the faintest hint of barnyardy yeast; its really difficult to force myself to drink this without retching.....wow, unbelievably it’s almost as bad to taste as to smell, initially more rotting, overripe and syrupy juices which just wrack the tongue....eventually giving way to a slightly soothing faint sourness and a touch of metallic edge that seems like welcome relief....low carbonation for the style, sticky and syrupy. The worst "lambic" I’ve ever had, easily.
0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20 wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2007
Muddy, orange to light brown hue with a sudsy white head that fades into nothingness. Aroma is intense and packed with overripe plums, decaying garbage, rotting flesh, crotch sweat and diapers (used). There’s also some half-caramelized, half-burnt sugar, funky cheese and moldy bread. Nauseating. The flavour is only marginally better because it’s got some decent acidity and all of the nastiness isn’t quite a strong. Still, it’s disgustingly sweet and tastes like used underwear pulled out of trash dumpster sitting behind a restaurant, baking in 100° sunshine. I’m guessing. Also, I get some burning pink erasers as it warms. Sticky texture, lively carbonation, medium bodied. So yeah, this is pretty terrible stuff. 25cl, Leffe goblet, bbe 13/06/09, 3.5% abv.
