3.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Inveigler (371) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - DEC 30, 2004
The aroma on this is incredible. Peaches defintiely -- but more like a peach candy than a real peach I suspect syrup but that is fine in the aroma -- lots of oakiness and tobacco in the nose. The appearance is a little less than desirable due to the huge clods of yeast, minus that the color is good. Oh yeah the peach syrup is there an a little overly sweet, but it really is too bad because I think that the base brew might be rather good. All that said, Ithink this is very drinkable and was pleasantly suprised.

My wifes first beer and Kulimantor, I had a Westy 6. Sugary sweet and not very lambic like. Page 142 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 418 Classic Brews to go.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Voivod (304) - Como, ITALY - MAR 27, 2003
This beer tastes exactly how a lambic fruit beer should not taste: artificial, with an overpowering sweetness. Anyway, better than the terrible Chapeau lemon.

Bottle, Passage Cafe, Brugge, Belgium. soft frothy head. peach color. aroma peachy. Kind of like a can of peaches. Taste is tarty, peachy. Palate: crisp, smooth, non-lingering. Decent lambic.
2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dubbercody (213) - Vancouver, Washington, USA - AUG 24, 2008
Golden hazy orange with no head to speak of. Aroma brings fruity, and a bit of funk.
Tastes like a mixed drink, but not necessarily like a beer. Not that I expected ’beer’, but it doesn’t have more than just a touch of tang to it.
My lady liked it...and since I bought it for her I got the rating as a bonus.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 zeek (134) - British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 8, 2010
Aroma is a bit acidic like, pours a golden orange with no head. Taste is extremely fruit-like, perhaps a bit too much like fruit juice. Mouthfeel is clean, and finishes sweet.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hoppygrrrl (104) - Albion, Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2003
Chapeau's peche has a pungent, earthy, yeasty aroma emanating from a beautiful coppery amber body, absolutely filled with flecks of yeast. This lambic has a wonderful feel - it smoothly coats your tongue and palate. But the peach flavor I was expecting was overwhelmed by too much alcohol, and it finished with surprising bitterness, like an overripe, sour peachskin.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 MakeItDrinkIt (66) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 4, 2008
Shimmering golden hazy color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is tart, fruity, and a bit musty - interesting peach / barnyard aroma combination. The flavor is immediately sweet - overly sweet fruit juice for a lambic style. A touch of tart shows itself briefly, then quickly gois into a funky maybe horse blanket flafor, which changes toward black walnuts as it warms. Tasted bottle on May 13 2008

Good, but not De Troch’s best.
