Fittingly, or not, my last beer my last night living in the Tampa FL area. The cool looking 12.7oz green glass and wide mouth bottle pours brown with amber hues and little brown floaties as well as no head at all. The aroma offers up an all too brief funky note as well as sweet/tart candy, moldy wood, wool, wet denim pants and some sort of sweet fruitiness off it the background. The taste is really sweet and rolls into modest levels of candy tartness, an interesting guava / pepper mix and a soft moldy wood note in the background. Hmm.

Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival Essen 2011. Dark red / amber color, small off-white head. Smell and taste sweetness, some fruits, slightly some sourness. Low carbonation, low to medium body.

Scopey (1192) - Croydon, Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2011
Bottle from Utobeer best before 31/12/08. It pours murky amber, with suspended particles and no head. The nose is sweet melon, candy floss, pear, apple and ice-tea with a distant hint of tartness. The taste is pear, melon, apple, candy floss, bubblegum and ice-tea. Medium body, low carbonation and somewhat chunky mouth-feel. Far too sweet and chunky. Couldn’t get past a few sips......never again!

Bottle: A medium vast lively beige head on top of an almost clear amber dark orange colored beer. Smell sweets like red fruit, cherries, some strawberries, sweet malts and some older hops. Taste is strangely sweet with a malty touch to it: fruit, dried prunes, strawberry, malts, more sweet than bitter or sour. Pretty sticky with some light soapy light yeasty/lambic-ish tones. Sweet fruity malty soapy aftertaste. low to medium carbo, soft light tingly mouthfeel, medium body and a light watery/creamy sticky texture. Not bad but too sweet and unbalanced. Guess they could better call this a Faro.

Fra flaske på Brouwerij De Troch i Wambeek under Tour de Geuze 1 Mai 2011. Dyp rødbrun. Nesten ikke skum. Aroma av søt malt & karamell. Smaken er søt malt. Litt søt bitterhet i ettersmaken. Servert under navnet "Winter Gueuze".

Bottle poured into snifter. I was actually really surprised by this one. It had good fruit aromas such as figs and apricots with a pleasant tart flavor as well. Not super sour like most guezes’ but it’s still not that bad.

37,5 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu as "Chapeau Winter Gueuze", 5.5%. BBE 16.09.2013
Aroma is very stale with moldy potato cellar and some sweet berry typical to juice lambics. Flavour is sweet with sugar and raspberry juice. Also some moldy cellar here too. Where’s the gueuze?
