kermis (6856) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2014
Bottle sampled at Essen Winterbeer Festival 2014. Pours clear golden with an off white head. Artificial sugar aroma, sickly sweet caramel. Nasty sickly palate. Flavour is heavy sweet and just a touch acid. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. A sorry excuse for the style.

Bottle from a bottle shop in Belgium. The cork was soaked with I opened the bottle, it would have been leaking without the cap. Fruity smell with red berries and some cellar notes. Sweet and sour taste with red berries and cellar notes. Sweet finish. Actually not that sour.

maekchu (2686) - Hirakata, JAPAN - DEC 16, 2014
Bottle, as "Chapeau Winter Gueuze." Nose of berries, other sweet fruit juices, and a little funk. Slightly hazy amber color, some lace. Sweetish initial, light berries, cherry, with a small tartness. Thin, with just a bit of astringency. Very fruity, but not so satisfying or interesting as a gueuze.

Bottle at DØE Frederiksberg. Low fluffy and quickly disappearng white head. Hazy golden body. Dusty perfumed apple aroma. Sweet apple honey flavor. No hops bitterness. Low carbonation short finish. Too sweet.

Leighton (13835) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2014
Bottle split with Bruce and Colin at De Heeren van Liedekercke - Denderleeuw, Belgium. Pours clear, red-gold with a creamy white head. Lots of ripe, sugary fruits in the aroma, some raspberry in particular. Big sweet flavor, syrupy, with more raspberry, low tang. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Syrupy finish with very slight sourness, more sugary fruits, bread, apricots. Pleasant enough but very sweet and not a good lambic.

375 ml. bottle sampled @ Streekbierweekend 2014. thx! for sharing people. Finally got to this one. Light hazy orange (I don’t know why but I expected this one to be far darker), creamy off-white head. Sweet artificial sweeteners, sugar, caramel & chlorine nose, chlorine might indicate this one being a vintage. Taste is sticky artificial sweeteners, chlorine, candy, sweet candy, thick artificial, candy sweetener body. More soda than beer nothing geuze about this one but still as a soda I am sort of into this one. I expected this one to be far worse, I liked this one as opposed to their regular sweetened geuze which I straight-up dislike.

Alengrin (3132) - BELGIUM - AUG 10, 2014
Also tasted as Winter Gueuze and the only Christmas lambic I know of. Loose, crispy, almost champagne-like, thin and quickly dissolving, light beige head, colour amber with reddish glow, darker than I am used to when it comes to geuze, lightly misty. Sweet and sour aroma reminiscent of ice tea (a bit like Lindemans’ Tea Beer), some apple, lemon, tea leaves, lemonade, liquorice, cork. Citrussy, refreshing onset, herbal accents, but overpowered by a sugary sweetness that sticks till deep into the throat. A light lambic character (light bitterness) is noticeable, however, but not nearly enough to balance the sweetness.

Icedwarf (689) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - AUG 10, 2014
Troebel licht bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en zuur. Uitstekende Gueze. Smaak blijft gemiddeld hangen. Winter geuze volgens etiket.
