33 cl bottle in tulip glass. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy white head. Nose is fruity with citrus, orange, and floral notes. A light Cinzano aroma. A bit soapy. Taste is dry with orange and grapefruit flavors. Light sweetness. Medium bitterness lingering for a while. 11 ABV is barely recognizable. Interesting beer but lacks a bit of complexity!

Appearance: Hazy dark amber with 2 finger thick beige head. Aroma: Muskiness, earthy, mineral, candied orange peel, bready, spice, hint of spiritous alcohol and light dried fruit. Taste: Low sweetness, medium bitter and sourness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, light/medium body, average carbonation, abrupt bready, fruity finish. Comments: Good, but fairly ordinary. Glass lace. No hint that this is 11%.

Bottle, purchased at La Cave a Bulles, and carried home for a tasting. Great complex aroma. Leather, cardamom, and light spice. Dry malt flavor with an herbal finish. Heavily carbonated, this was a huge gusher. Considerable amount of sediment in this beer.

[750ml bottle] Big gusher, flumes out of the bottle even having been carefully vented. Angry and historic Norman ale. Slightly tart, nutty aroma on the opaque medium-brown beer. Touch of the old blanket. Borderline, but gets away with it. Chestnut fizz. Doesn’t taste 11% at all [21062013]

Bottle. Cloudy amber with off white head. Spiced caramel apple aroma, little funk. Taste is spicy and musty with caramel and toffee. Little sweet and a little tangy. Ok

33cl bottle. Dark orange with huge, ivory head. Nose : citrus fruits, zest, tart. Booze. Sip : oily with medium body. Sweet with strongly spiced background. Fruit cake. Ginger bread. The beer gets bitter and still heavily spiced in the finish. Still interesting. Quite like medicine.
