Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear sparkling garnet-colored beer with a large thin beige head. Medium persistence. Fruity aroma (sugar and acid ones), herbs, caramel. Medium bittersweet. Sweetness begins medium, then light and finally medium. Medium body and texture. A bit oily. Bitter finish with a lasting warming note. Overall, a good beer. Nice fruity and hop aroma.

Gollem Proeflekaal, Amsterdam: Pours light brown with an off-white head. Aroma is lightly fruity and yeasty. Taste is ever so slightly bitter. Somewhat sweet. Pretty much a standard, darker BSA. I had no complaints while drinking it.

Bottle. 8.5%. Best before 10.14. As ’Keizer Karel Charles Quint Ruby Red Øl’. Pours a clear amber/orange with a yellowish light tan head. Good lacing. Fruity aroma, a bit tart and dusty. Dark fruits. Dates, or plums maybe? Flavour is sweetish, bordering molasses but not quite getting there, with dark fruits. A bit heavy. Tart and somewhat bitter, dark fruit finish. Light metallic overtone. Overall okay I guess, but not really doing it for me. 12.01.14.
