Nice beige 1cm cover, rapidly diminishing. Hazy copper colored. Faint DMS gives the impression of an extreme level of adjuncts. Toffeeish, very sweet nose with bold vanilla-laced liquorice presence. In mouth, the sweetness keeps on, reminding of barley sugar intertwined with straightforward Belgian alcohol that remains well contained. Estery banana/dark fruit yeastiness. Vegetal nature, corny, candyish. Medium airy body, big bubbled and fully sweet.

Bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with a nice coffee coloured head, albeit disappearing too quickly. The aroma is sweet and malty with some strong licquorice notes. The taste is full-bodied with candy sugar, Christmas fruits and some sweet peanut brittle. Really nice.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2005 Original Rating (6-3-4-3-10=2.6): Dark pit fruit in the vinous, malty aroma. Clear brown body is topped by generous, off white head that recedes to cover. Cabbagey flavour is very sweet with a light bitterness and alcohol very apparent. Medium body with syrupy texture and somewhat low carbonation. Bottle sampled at Den Tatoverede Enke in Copenhagen.
Rerate (6-2-6-3-12=2.9): Caramel, butterscotch, star anise, leafy, herbal hops, strong alcohol, some tannins and light fruitiness are all apparent in the flavour. Clear brown-copper body with large bubbled, low, off white head that recedes to partial cover. Fruity, tannin-full flavour is sugary and has some cocoalike overtones and a light, roasty note to the finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation that is lightly effervescent on the tongue and cheeks. Bottle (BB 14/07/05, Bièropholie, Apr-05) sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.

Draught, at The Rover. Dark brown with large beige head, mostly lasting, excellent lacings. Aroma heavy malty (brown sugar, dark fruit), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter. Medium to full body, light carbonated, creamy, the strenght is felt. I miss more bitterness!

Veer (362) - Landskrona, SWEDEN - SEP 26, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2005 When I had this one I already had drunk a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale, a Duchesse de Bourgogne, a Westmalle Tripel and a Rochefort 10. So, naturally, I was drunk. My best description would be something like this: Chimay Rouge and Leffe Dubbel. Not extreme in any way, not disappointing, not astonishingly good, but good.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2006 Nice brown, dark amber colour, sweet malty, light caramel aroma with some herby touches. Taste is full off malts, bitter sweet. Some biterness in the aftertaste, nice beer

Bottled, on a boat, without proper glassware. Someone on the boat however dropped her bottle, the beer flushing out over the bottom of the boat, showing a nice tan head and a probably dark reddish brown colour. Fruity (red fruit) and caramel dominate the brew. The alcohol is quite well hidden but something in there is a little harsh. All in all quite good brew.

Draught: Ruby amber with a tan. Caramel flavour dominates. Stick feel. A bit bland and boring really.

Draft. Nose of dark fruits, sweet malts, good fruityness. Dark reddish body, small to medium off-white head. Fruity flavor, quite sweet and sticky, notes of molasses.

(RBESG05, draft at Den Tatorverede Enke) Crystal clear, dark red-brown body, topped by a creamy beige head with nice lacing. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, brown sugar, caramel, light metallic. Taste is medium sweet, herbal, some metallic, alcohol, light cherry. Creamy medium body.
