Nice dark ruby red color. Not a pleasant aroma, it smelled a little like pig food! I also tasted it, so no, this is not my beer. Color and mouthfeel are good but the most important things aren’t.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cuso (1766) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 4, 2011

Smell is nice. Lacking in taste. Mouthfeel decent. This one was a bit hard to convert to ratebeer’s rating system (i use a different one, gave lot’s of half points).
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 13, 2011
(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, as Charles Quint Rouge 8.5%) Dark ruby red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes and red berries. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, orange peel and a spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite sweet, with some alcohol shining through. On the sweet side, but quite tasty.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7054) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 12, 2011
Test vom 11.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,9,9,8,8,9 - 9,00
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Eructoblaster (2122) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 4, 2011
Bottle - 330ml. Nice brown body with a thin off-white foamy head. Its malty/hoppy aroma hides the alcohol pretty well and carries herbal and flowery hints. Well balanced taste with fruity. brown sugar, woody, and grainy notes. Ends with a decent bitter/grainy finish. Enjoyable.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2011
Bottle shared with Finn at Paters Vaetje. Clear, golden-brown body. Patchy surface, fragile lacing. Sweet malty aroma added by spicy hints. Caramel, anise and almond in flavour. Notes of yeasty fruitiness and alcohol on the swallow. Quite alright (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

Bottle at home. Clear light brown to red color, thin off-white head. Aroma is roasty and with bready yeast. Flavor is full of fresh bread, some sugary malts, fruity and with a nice hop bitter finish. Decent balance and wide array of distinct flavors. Nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2011
The beer pours a super dark amber that is incredibly clear. The head is a very light tan that only rises about a finger but is gone way to quickly with no lacing.
The aroma is super malty caramel with tons of dark sinous fruits(prunes).
The taste is pretty malty a little to sweet, more sweet than I was expecting. More dark fruits and at the end a little bitter at the end.
The feel is medium dry at the end.
Overall, this is ok, pretty similar to Gouden dor, but not in that league.
