330 ml bottle via Belgiuminabox. Beautiful red brown with full head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts and sour dark fruit with a hint of toffee. Flavors of malt and plums. Nice balance - good beer.

Bottle, as Robijn Rood. Clear reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of plums, darkish caramel, a little dough. Rich dark fruits and caramel despite the fairly light body. Some citrus and spices - anise, ginger, cloves - at the end. No magic but pretty solid.

Jan 2007: This beer, in a four pack, was bought in a hurry, by mistake in a Brussels supermarket, I thought it was the normal Charles Quint. Back home in the UK I realised I had the wrong beer, no problems, I’ll see what this red version is all about. Looks fine, a light Aubergine purple/red, held up to the light, its true colour shines through, a clear red hue is clear to see, nice. Treacle, plumb bread aroma. Alcohol kick in the taste and mouthfeel, no great flavour, just the alcohol hitting you, not unpleasant, but not ideal if you are trying a few beers or wanting to be objective. Overall, fine, not a new classic, but OK.

(Bottled) Shitloads of malt, dried fruit and rich texture in this nose, attractive deep brown with beige formats. I was anticipating something mundane with this by judeing a beer by its cover. The label has some old goat as its reference point historically ; On the palate ,powerful malts (dried almond, pears ) nutty carmale ,with soy sauce as the Polish rater below mentioned , earthy hops ; ; A decent offering, ok .

suprchunk (1059) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - FEB 13, 2012
Dark golden colored pour. Small white head that falls quickly and leaves no lacing behind. Boozy aroma with hints of green apple and turpentine. Cereal taste with big boozy overtones. Sweet and thin from the booze. Burning sensation with each swallow. Pretty boozy beer.
