Clear Golden beer with a firm lasting bright-white head. Nice malty aroma and flavour. Smooth finish wich makes this a very good thirst quencher. A bit to smooth to make for a top-score, but a very decent and certainly drinkable beer.

Pours golden color with small white head. Malty flavour and aroma. Completely forgettable blonde.

Typical fruity Belgian blond beer. Very drinkable, but just not so exciting.

My wife and I have had this many times over years, in those four handled and then three handled mugs and nowadays the glass. This write up is from a 33cl bottle opened in the lovely and hidden away bar called Belleman, in Brugge on 1st Feb 2014. The Belleman’s beer list may not be huge, but it’s worth getting out the centre of Brugge and having a slow relaxing beer in a quiet bar now and again, it’s ideal for that. Pours a golden colour with a pure white crown of bubbles that tried to hang around. The aroma is a blend of yeastiness, light malts and floral hop notes, with a mild fruitiness for good measure. It is a little sweeter than the nose suggests, but this isn’t a proper sweet beer, there is plenty of hop content to prevent the malts taking over completely. It’s in fact a nice mixture of flavours similar to the aromas and most enjoyable. It isn’t going to blow your socks off with anything different or strong, but it’s easy to drink and a very pleasant respite from some of Belgium’s heavy hitters: which is why we often have one when out on a mission in Brugge or the Belgian coast.

Golden blonde color with good white head. Aroma of floral hops, yeast and banana. Taste of malt, ripe pear and ends with a bitter aftertaste.

Clear yellow with small lacing white foam head. Aroma is small hoppy, barley and floral ites. Tastes quite fresh, little fruity, small bitterness. Lasting aftertaste, good beer. (Velp 201401)

Yellow gold, form top. Lots of bitters, a bit too dominant maybe. Long dry finish with the same bitterness

Bottled 330ml. Scout pub, Samobor. Golden coloured, small white head. OK, but not my favourite Belgian.
