3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a dense, creamy, off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Spicy aroma with some yeast. Full-bodied with lightly sweet fruit notes, a solid malt base again with a spicy edge - perhaps a whiff of ginger - and a distinct yeastiness. Dry and very bitter finish. Very classical Belgian. 061007

Tap @ YNWA. Pours a light golden with a small creamy white head with good lacework. Poured a bit too cold perhaps. Mild aroma with malt and orangy fruityness. Sweet flavour, lightly vinious and quite spicy. Some fruityness, pine, vanilla, coriander and sourish oranges. Perhaps a touch too sweet for my liking.

Bottle, 8.5%. Very fruity aroma, sweet hops. Clear golden colour. Big white head. The flavour is also fruity with some pepper. Better than I expected.

33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Reddish amber colour with a little but nice head. Aroma of yeast and spices, and hints of dried fruit. Nice flavour of yeast, malt and some berries, that ends in a nice sweet and little bitter at the end. Hard to find the high alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Aroma is just sweet citrus but nice. Yellow color, white firm head, good lace. Light maltsweet, well hopped, citrus, medium body. Straightforward but still flavoful. A bit sweeter than Duvel but a quality brew and certainly can compete with that one.

I bought a pack with two blondes, two rouges and the four handled mug. This one pours a pale golden colour, with a correct head that doesn’t last long, but leaves a good lace. Spicy aroma of coriander, cloves and maybe cardamome, with vanilla notes. Taste is spicy, but with some sweetness. Coriander, cinnamon and a bit fruity. Alcoholic, and a dry aftertaste.
