Alert: first rating ever! Aroma: dough, something I can’t quite put my finger on. Appearance: clear golden with a nice foamy head that disappears quickly Taste: Too much of a rookie to accurately describe. I can find sweet and bitter in the taste, bitterness is not overwhelming. Palate: soft carbonation with a nice oily texture Overall: Very enjoyable overall, though not enough complexity for my taste. Take your time to enjoy this one, I’m sure you’ll like it!

Lekker , een toets van zuur en zoet te samen . Biertje om traag en met smaak op te drinken.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear golden yellow beer with orange hues. Medium white head with a medium retention. Aroma of biscuit, fruit (prune, grape), herbs. Medium dry refreshing bitter with a sweet note. Medium body, light to medium texture, good carbonation, bittersweet finish. Overall, a really good belgian ale : fruity, bittersweet, pleasant palate.

Bottle from R.Leclerc, Riberac. Poured a clear, mid golden colour, with a dense white head. Aroma of malt, dried fruit and honey. Candy sugar and bready malt and slightly tart citrus. Finish was pretty light; some grassy hop, flatish malt and boiled sweets.

Crystal clear, brilliant golden body with a small, white head that laces the glass well. Quite strong aroma of Belgian yeast, pale malts, spices and a whiff of alcohol. The flavour follows in the path of the aroma, but is not very strong. The alcohol is fairly well integrated. Moderate sweet taste and a light to moderate bitterness. Mid-bodied, oily texture, moderate carbonation, not much dryness. A decent beer, but a tad too sweet and faint.

Oscura con aroma y sabor a maltas dulces y ligeramente tostadas con un sabor también dulce y algo especiado con ligero amargo final. Buena, aunque un pelin menos que la rubis. Cuerpo medio con 9 vol y buena sensación alcohólica.

Alengrin (3670) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
Blonde counterpart of the original Keizer Karel, launched in 2006. Snow white head, golden blonde colour with slight haze. Sweet and fruity, soft maltiness, some citrus, some caramel, impressions of peaches, red apple, honey and vanilla, warm alcoholic finish with mild hop bitterness. Not very interesting tripel, lacks personality, like all of Haacht’s beers.
