A tribute to the legions of porters who faithfully loaded and unloaded bags from the train cars in 18th and 19th century London, and for whom the beer style “Porter” is named. Our 21st century version combines English-grown malted barley with American yeast to render a tipple showing aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, and light roast; prior to flavors of more coffee, light caramel and toast, prior to a clean, semi-roasty finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet malt, light coffee grounds, chocolate malt. Flavor of lots of roasted malt, coffee grounds, and a touch of sweet malt. Nice porter, fairly roasted, otherwise somewhat basic but it gets the job done. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Half pint on draft at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is roasty coffee, medium body, low carbonation, and thin small bubble lacing. Taste is really roasty, herbal hops, some coffee, some dark chocolate, and a hint of caramel.
