The second in a line of Belgian strong ales named in homage to the brewer’s favorite band. This not-quite Tripel, not-quite Saison, and not-quite Golden Strong shows aromas of apple, pear, and light citrus. Flavors of more yeast-derived fruit, paired with subtle crackery notes, before a deceptivley dry, spritzy finish

Draft at the brewpub, 7/15/14. Pours a hazy amber with a fizzy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of candi sugar, bready malt, citrus, stone fruit. The taste is candi sugar, bready caramel malt, yeast, spice, citrus, mild booze. Medium bodied, mild heat.

Keg @ Pints @ Pies, Charleston WV. Gold with a frothy white head. Baked apple, banana esters. Some banana muffins, honey. Taste is certainly a bit hit. Mellow acidity. A bit husky. More baked apple and honey. Marshmallow sweetness. Oily, full body. Actually not bad.

Draft. Pours a cloudy, murky gold with a thin white head of foam that didn’t stick around. Aroma is musty, earthy, and spicy. David said he got pear in here. I could find that once he brought it up. Taste is more of the same, but i think the spice taste just didn’t do it for me.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2014 Draft half pint at Charleston Brewing Company. Pours cloudy golden with small white head. Aroma is citrus, medium body, and medium carbonation. Taste is pear, some apple, some alcohol, and a hint of citrus. Lots of fruit flavor, but the alcohol peaks out a touch too much for me.
