3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at the brewery. Opaque, semi clear brownish. More like dark fruit juice. No foam. Intetesting looking and not typical. A rich coffee and chocolate nose. This tastes like a throwback to previous ways of brewing. Again, interesting. I taste coffee first and it is very rich coffee. Dark fruit and dry chocolate. Later more citrus and west coast hop flavors emerge but remsin undertones. After that the plums are noted. This is not a new school beer. I like it and had fun trying it.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap. Very dark brown with a nearly white head. Opaque and hits of ruby in the color. Roasty bitter coffee in the aroma, with some burlap, and alcohol hits somehow in there as well. Odd flavor at work, bark, coffee, some slight cocoa and its certainly not sweet. Dry and coffee bitter finish. Lighter body and flat.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap sample at Charleston Brewing Company. Pours translucent brown with small beige head. Medium body, medium carbonation, and light nutty aroma. Taste is rich nutty malty goodness. The marriage of a porter and an English nut brown. My favorite beer so far at Charleston Brewing Company.
