COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While respectfully following the guidelines of this traditional British ale, we added a truly American twist. Using 100% U.S. grown hops throughout the brew, a complex variety of imported and domestic malts, and a truly unique British yeast, the result is a well balanced India Pale Ale. One that exemplifies the classic style, yet brings with it the flavors and aromas of our American hop innovations without forgetting the barley.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2006 Draft... ODBF2006... Clear, golden ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Grapefruit, tea and honey in the aroma. Well-balanced flavor. Plenty sweet, but moderately bitter. Full-bodied with not-quite-medium carbonation. Lengthy, bitter finish.

Sampled at Old Dominion Brewfest ’06. Clear golden with a white head. Grapefruit, floral hop nose. Flavor has notes of pale malt, a little caramel, grapefruit/citrus and a tinge of pine. As the description states, it’s kind of a light Brit IPA with some American character in there. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not great but pretty decent.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color, tons of head and carbo release. Not much of an aroma. Taste is dry, crisp, with citrus tones. Seems a tad harsh early, but smooths out as the beer warms. Average.

Dark amber color with a very little head. Aroma is a spicy and grasy hops. Flavor is fresh and resiny. Long bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a light amber with a very minimal head. Pleasant floral nose, which later moved into skunky as the beer warmed. Very bitter with some malt and fruit. and caramel. Finish/aftertaste was dry/bitter. The end was the worst part of the beer. Not the best IPA.

Barrel Draught from the jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 01/10/2005 Golden coloured and very hoppy. Strong in alcohol with a bitter lasting finish.

Seven beers in and my notes are already diminishing. Classic copper-colored IPA. Smooth and somewhat creamy. Hmm . . . not very inspiring but enjoyable.

wow, talk about some damn yankees. I think this beer certainly has the southern palate in mind. The only real problem I have with it stylisticly speaking is that it is a pale ale, even by English standards. One of the most refreshing IPAs I’ve ever had, and very well balanced. Perhaps an intro IPA? Color is spot on and the only real differense between this and SNPA is probably the grapefruity Cascade hop on the nose. Excellent beer, very well priced and nicely put together, even if it is a different beer.

Bottle. Light apricot and hops aroma. Orange-brown color with small head. Initially light sweet malt flavor that is quickly overwhelmed by hops bitterness. Moderate acidity and carbonation. Nicely blended - the hops are strong but not overwhelming.

Strong hop aroma. Pours a golden color. Had a good hop flavor, with a slight dry finish.
