Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of skunk bud, biscuit, grapefruit, grassiness and pine. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grassiness, grapefruit, light orange zest and light pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ben4321 (2223) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Location: 22 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 5/29/12, Rating # 2222, which is kind of an interesting number...
Aroma: It has a good amount of hops, with some pine/resin and grapefruity notes
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with an off-white head and light-medium lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, but mostly bitter and hoppy, with a lot of dry resiny flavor
Palate: The body is medium-full, sticky on the mouth, and finishes with a long lasting dryness
Overall Impression:
It’s always nice to use a new DIPA as a landmark rating. Anyway, this was a pretty darn good one, with a big pine and resiny dryness. I thought it worked really nicely.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jandd1983 (938) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JAN 13, 2012
It poured a dark orange/brownish color with a tan head. The aroma was very much pine hops. The flavor was agressively hopped (as stated on the label). A very decent DIPA with some malt to put the hop heads in a new frame of mind.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (3824) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Thanks to phaleslu for this bottle. Served in a snifter.
Pours a medium copper color with a three-finger off-white head and quite a bit of sticky lacing on the way down. The nose starts off with some notes of citrus and pine. A bit of a light floral element to it as well. A bit of bready malt; slight amber presence. The flavor shows why the color is as it is -- this has a fairly strong resemblance to a hoppy amber. There’s a bit of bread crust, caramel, and mild sweetness to go with the hops. Medium body with a semi-dry finish and nice bitterness. Well made.

22oz. Bottle: Got in trade from phaleslu; THANKS Peter! Aroma of hops, pine, fruit, citrus, and grapefruit. Poured orange in color with a small, off-white, head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, resin, slight malt, slight caramel, and some hop oil. Medium body. Oily, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, medium to heavily bitter, hop, pine, resin, slight malt, finish is lightly dry. 9%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mattyb83 (635) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 27, 2011
Bottle from drfabulous. This seems to be a bit hazier than I had hoped for. Nice copper color with a medium sized, barely, off-white head. Some noticeable lacing is left as the head recedes. Malty aroma with plenty of caramel, but there is a bit of stinging pine notes there as well. I’m already fretting that this isn’t going to be the type of dipa I like. Flavor is ok that is caramel forward, some pine, and a strange bit of lemon towards the finish. Almost pine sol like. A little thin, and lighter mouthfeel than many other dipas (which I like). I wish this had more citrus or tropical fruit character.

22 ounce thanks to Jarrett. Malt bomb. Caramel with some sticky pine. Big presence. Nice bitterness in both taste and aroma. This brewery is getting better.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 12, 2011
Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. A copper pour with a nice golden head. West coast hops are in the nose are citrus. Those hops are the story here and there is some big caramel that has bready biscuits. The finish was sweet but those hops never left. Very good.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Terminus (2617) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - AUG 15, 2011
bottle-pours very dark orange verging on amber hue with a small off-white eggshel head. nose is piney, somewhat sugary, musty, woody, earthy slight dankness, slightly green (as in fresh hops), and lite pine. something is different here-maybe its their house yeast character. flavors start out somewhat sweet with a cacker/cookie like malt profile followed by a ton of resinous hops that are also spicy and piney. finishes both sweet yet piney at the same time. pretty intersting beer here. Alcohol is detected, but only very slight. it is pretty sweet, but it has alot of resin to help balance. i think the resin wins in the end but it is long into the finish when it becomes very apparent. pretty solid IIPA especially from this brewery. I hope that they keep making beers more in the lines of the quality here. this one is very clean and definatley not like any other IIPA i have ever had.
4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (7583) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 12, 2011
Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy light amber with a frothy 5 finger beige head. Aroma from the bottle is pine/citrus. Aroma from the head is citrus. Med+ body. Flavor is mild caramel with a whole lot of floral/citrus/earthy/piney hop. OMFG. The Pacific NW has moved to the home of my forebears. Once again the Show Me state has showed me. This is one brilliant, f......g, earthy, hoppy mouth boggling ale.
