3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted 8/19/11. 22oz bomber. Unactivated pour leaves a ton of dark sediment in the bottle. Pours opaque brown with a webbed khaki head. Aromas of Cherry 7Up, Sugary lemon and lime candy flavor. Mild chocolate and fudge nuance. Full bodied and super sweet! The palate screams fudgy chocolate icing. Overwhelming sweetness from the malts and the other ingredients. Nice blend of the Belgian yeast and dark fruity esters, chocolate and fudgy flavors. The alcohol is muted and gets lost in the cola, syrupy sweetness. Yeah, the sweetness is a tad overt. Even at this age. A crazy banana ester pops up in the finish, and actually blends seamlessly with the melted chocolate ice cream flavor. Crazy.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From ZDKís gathering. The aroma is caramel, sweet, chocolate, but odd sort of artificial-ness. The appearance is brown in color, off-white head. The flavor is like a box of chocolates, a mash up of chocolate, and other sweet flavors, like strawberry, raspberry, etc. The finish is sweet, light pine. Very good.

22oz bottle shared by Andy at zach & Mattís tasting. Pours brownish black with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasty with a strong salted caramel profile. Wow. Taste is totally fudgey chocolate with a sweet and salty edge. Really interesting and an enjoyable beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle via trade. Deep dark brown with a small fizzy head that quickly fades to a tiny ring. Aroma of milk chocolate mostly with some vanilla and caramel. Flavor is sweet chocolate and milk caramels with very light roast, alcohol very well hidden. Medium to full body with a soft, smooth mouth feel. I donít get any Quad character in this, itís all about the chocolate. A great sweet chocolate beer, a horrible Quad.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was an interesting brew. Aroma of chocolate with sweet dark fruits, like a cordial cherry almost. The flavor was a strange combo of chocolate with a sweet dessert wine, or possibly prunes or raisins. Somehow, that combination of sweet dark fruit and bittersweet chocolate works. Again on the finish, I was getting both chocolate and wine. All in all, really delicious and unique.

Holy cordial cherry batman. This is what i was reminded of here. I starting enjoying this quite a bit but I had a hard time finishing a 10oz snifter. Alittle too thick and sweet for me...which is unusual. I love the bottle art...love as a beer to share. No nuances. Just big time flavor

22 oz. bottle. Pours a black cola like color with a small head. Itís black. The aroma has some chocolate, roast flavors, and Belgian yeast like esters though the latter is he lighter of the three. The taste really brings the chocolate into play. A wave of smooth chocolate glides across the palate. I must say the name is very fitting and I am glad they did not hold back on the chocolate. The palate is smooth and silky almost like some good chocolate.

Opaque black beer, big fluffy tan head. Palate is smooth with mild carbonation. Chocolate! Slightly tangy milk chocolate and a lesser tone of drinking chocolate and that somewhat powdery chocolate you associate with cheap sweets. A hint of tangy chocolate orange. Finishes semi dry. Trace of banana and bubblegum ester. Mild minerals and a little dark chocolate. Harmless fun!

On tap. Black pour with tan head. Nose of m&ms..its alllll chocolate. Smells like milk chocolate but tastes like dark chocolate. A bit thin bodied but a nice finish of lingering bitter chocolate.
