Sampled at St. Louis Microfest 2010 - Pours dark brown with a small tan had. The aroma has lots of smooth chocolate, thick toffee malt and caramel with a distinct Belgian yeastiness. The body is thick and chewy with gentle flowing carbonation. The flavor starts off with chocolate milk mixed with Belgian yeastiness along with lots of cream, vanilla and pleasing abv warmth. The finish has heat and cream. Nice interesting beer.

Thanks T..J. The beer pours to a deep cola colored body with a thin off-white head. The aroma is like a chocolate sundae. Lots of bananas covered in chocolate with some cream. The flavor is sweet bananas and a nice chocolate body. Like a sundae. Flavor lingers upon a medium dry body. This one works for me.

Thanks to T.J. for bringing the bomber! Poured hazy, deeper brown with a creamy, dark tan head. The aroma picked up chocolate-covered bananas plus some darker fruit upfront.. chocolate-centric, but the quad elements provided lovely depth.. sweet overall and very intriguing. The flavor found lots of cocoa nibs throughout, with darker fruit and biscuity sweetness at the core.. more toasty banana on the back-end.. very tasty stuff, but the chocolate overwhelmed all of the other interesting character. Medium-bodied and a bit too sweet on the palate.. the alcohol was totally masked.. very tasty and drinkable.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. A very dark brown pour that has red tones and a ring of foam. A light nose but chocolate and a hint of mint are noted. Flavor is full of chocolate and it reminds me of Yoo Hoo Cola. some dark fruit comes late. A fizzy feel. Tasted not long after Boulevards chocolate and this one was far superior.

Tasted 8/19/11. 22oz bomber. Unactivated pour leaves a ton of dark sediment in the bottle. Pours opaque brown with a webbed khaki head. Aromas of Cherry 7Up, Sugary lemon and lime candy flavor. Mild chocolate and fudge nuance. Full bodied and super sweet! The palate screams fudgy chocolate icing. Overwhelming sweetness from the malts and the other ingredients. Nice blend of the Belgian yeast and dark fruity esters, chocolate and fudgy flavors. The alcohol is muted and gets lost in the cola, syrupy sweetness. Yeah, the sweetness is a tad overt. Even at this age. A crazy banana ester pops up in the finish, and actually blends seamlessly with the melted chocolate ice cream flavor. Crazy.

Thanks to Keir for this beer in trade. Pours brown with red highlights and a tan head. Nose is cherry, malt, vanilla, sugar, milk chocolate, nougat, cane sugar, and maraschino cherries. Flavor is like a box of Queen Anne chocolate-covered cherries along with milk chocolate, sugar, and sweet cherries. Light to medium in body and an interesting beer; a bit thin in body for a quad.

Bottle thanks to billshmeinke. Pours with a clear (when held up to the light), pretty close to black hue with a small tan head. Aromas are of raisins, tons of dark fruit esters, raspberries, lots of cocoa nibs, vanilla, dark chocolate, banana, pear esters (pear drops) and maybe a bit of lactose. Flavors are of pear, chocolate, cocoa, esters, earthy, nutty and very fruity. Tons of esters (including pear and banana), some candy notes and maybe even something along the lines of peanut butter. Somewhat lively carbonation for a big beer like this. Fuller bodied. Nice.

Shared by Chris. Thanks man! The beer appears dark chestnut brown with a broken head of tan bubbles. The aroma offers a lot of chocolate scents, along with a rich, dark roasted malt. Definitely a huge chocolate presence. Not sure I would identify this as a quad, but hey, it’s good stuff. Heavy chocolate presence throughout. Overall, this is ok, but not something I would regularly crave. Now that I have had it, overcoming the anticipation of never having had it, I would choose any of the standard Belgian examples of the style over this. Bonus points for chocolate deliciousness, but counteracted by lack of depth and complexity.

Pours clear dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate, caramel and vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a very sweet chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
