COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoptimistic IPA(India pale ale) has intense hop bitterness and flavor. This ale is further characterized by fruity, floral and citrus-like aromas due to American-variety hops. This copper/orange hued ale has a nicely balanced medium maltiness which contributes to a medium body that goes down easy, leaving a lingering bitterness that is hard to resist.

Very good example of the style. Nice aroma of American hops, good malt back bone, leaves a nice, resiny finish in the mouth.

A strong hop aroma; looks fine. Flavor is strong; quite a bit of bitterness. A n extremely dry finish and mostly just a bitter flavor. Good but not really balanced at all.

22oz bomber from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy orange with about 3 fingers of white head. Aroma of grapefruit and orange citrus. Taste is medium bitter and very light sweet. Taste of orange, grapefruit and light caramel. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, its really good. I’m actually very surprised how good it is considering it was only 4 bucks for the bomber. Would totally drink this again.

Bottle - good citrusy, hopo forward aroma and flavor - pretty good IPA, especially for the southeast MO area

Tasted 2/13/09. 22oz bomber. Slightly hazy with an amber golden hue. Finger width of off-white head. Floral aromas with a hint of grapefruit and lemon citrus candy. Medium bodied with a nice light caramel malt flavor. Hop dominant with a crisp palate and a good dose of bitterness. Citrus fruit and a mild earthy hop note. Finishes sweet but with a cloying lingering astringent bitterness. Super fresh and very well crafted.

A lot of head at first, but went away pretty quickly. Tons of sediment. Oily hops aroma. Oily hops in the taste too, balancing out heavy malts. On the heavy side, but not overly bitter. Good IPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer rating. I never realized I rated the wrong beer call hop monster. Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is a strong pine hop followed by a decent grapefruit flesh. Flavor is again pretty good with lots of fresh pine hops and a mild sweet malt in the back round.

Nice to find a winery that’s also brewing great beer. This was the highlight of the day, with strong notes of citrusy hops on the nose leading into a good grapefruit meets hint of pine on the palate. Hints of lemongrass and candied orange lead into the finish, which is well balanced. A very good IPA.

Bottle. Textbook pour, bright and amber with a nice airy head on top. The aroma is nice and fruity with an outdoorsy flourish. This drinks with a rich citrus base, but without the west-coast acidity. Instead, this has a nice even keel of mellow caramel malt, an almost orangey fruitiness, and just a little hop finish. Nice. (#3987, 9/19/2010)
