Snifter on draft at Ciciero’s in STL. Black pour with a ghost white thick head. Aroma is strong prune beer accented with alcohol of the barrel. The flavor is is similar strong without being all alcohol with plenty of non-sweet yet strong beer. Its not intense but has a good prune and earthy flavor, again accented by alcohol off the barrel. Not thick, medium carbonation, yet felt nicely on the cheeks. Surprisingly, very well done and something I would love to drink again.

Sampled at The Stable’s Beer Lover’s Anonymous. Very dark with red and a nice tan head. A delicious aroma of dark fruit, oak, vanilla, char, and rich malt. Flavor is the same but somehow doesn’t quite work together. I like every flavor in this beer but not all together. There are so many good things but the glue that holds it together is missing.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is deffinatly all whiskey with a little oak and vanilla. Flavor has a more minute whiskey with more of a roasted malt and a decent amount of the oak. I was hoping for more of the whiskey that i got in the aroma to show up in the flavor but that was my only knock against this one. I did not know this was 10% till i saw it on here.

Draft served in a tulip at International Tap House-Soulard. Pours an opaque dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, whiskey, cherries, deep roasted caramel malts, oak, and toffee. Flavor of dark fruits (cherries, plums), vanilla, oak, roasted malts, winter spices, and pine. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, boozy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Really cool winter spiced imperial stout. I’d like more of this.
