Great brown ale. Smooth in the mouth, you can detect a caramel/butter aroma. You could drink this for days without a problem. All is well balanced.

Originally rated October 2006. Sampled at the pub itself. Poured a dark brown colour with red highlights. The lacing was good and all around. Medium retention had the big head. Scent of mild roasted and chocolat malts. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. The taste was also mild with roasted malt, light chocolat and coffee in the aftertaste. This was a nice refreshing brown ale for stout lovers (felt like a watered down stout).

Bright amber-brown coloure. Toasty-toffeeish aroma with a hint of nuts. Slightly nutty, toffeeish flavour. Reasonably rich and full, as brown ales go.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2007 This rich brown ale is full of coffee and nutty notes, along with pleasant fruity caramel sweetness…A distinctive woody bitterness is quickly enveloped by this proficient maltiness, and dark chocolate is even added for good measure...

A nice reddish brown ale with a thin light moka head. A surprisingly Belgian aroma, with fruity esters, toffee, and nutty notes, very surprising and nice. In mouth, a robust malt with light hops, light chocolaty notes, fruity esters, light sovent notes. Medium bodied. A solid Belgian inspired brown ale. On tap at Les Brasseurs du Temps, May 14 2009.
