In short: Nice IIPA with a tasty fruity resinous bitterness and light caramelized malts.
How: Tap at Saint-Bockl, sipping in HogTownHarry glass when he wasn’t looking.
The look: Clear copper body with a small but long-lasting off-white head
In long: Served very cold it was surprisingly odourless and flavourless but a 10 minutes wait made quite a difference. The malt profile is a bit low-profile, I could have done with a more flavourful thicker caramel presence. Nice fresh tasty hops though. Flavours of orange peels, grapefruit and coniferous resin. Yummy resinous bitterness of medium intensity. I still have a hard time to believe that this really is a 11% beer. If this truly is the case then the alcohol is as well hidden as when I visit my cousin Louis. Cheap bastard.

BQ2010. Sampled in a bottle on the way to Chambly with some lovely Canananadian ladies. Pours a clear, but dark orange body with little head. Aroma is sweet sugary. Taste was mostly flavors of fruit and citrus hops. not strong at all. hides the ABV very well.

On tap at Saint-Bock. The color is a nice hazy golden honeyn with a thin beige head. The taste is of biter hops with a sweet grapefruit taste and aroma. There is malt but not that much. The finish of this beer is just wnough bitterness to make just a great double I.P.A. but what else can you expect from Charlevoix but great beer.

Draught. At St-Bock. Slightly hazy amber pour with an average creamy white head. Initially I was browned off about the lack of aroma, but it was too cold - as it warmed, people could smell it across the table - dry, acidic herbal/resin hops. Taste - oh, that’s nice - strong dry pine/resin hops, grapefruit, enough light malt to give it a framework, but mostly hops - and alcohol, but seemed more like 7-9% at most. The body was boderline watery, but the dry astringency and long, moderately bitter finish were fine - frankly, it was super drinkable, and good, but not mind-blowing. Hell, 3.8 is a good score!
