Stunning, fantastic beer. Pours bright clear gold with himalayan white head. Aromas are a wonderful blend of belgian yeast/spice/pepper with loads of really fresh citrus hops. Hops are balanced off but it avoids being heavy. It’s so light, refreshing, drinkable, and delicious. 10% alcohol utterly disappears. Very, very, very good.

Belle bière dorée, parfaitement limpide et coiffée d’un voluptueux col crème traçant une légère dentelle au verre. Des arômes éthérés de fruits mûrs, d’esters fruités et d’alcool. Belle amertume soutenue avec juste ce qu’il faut de sucre. Elle est ronde, soyeuse, finement effervescente et se termine longuement sur de délicieux arômes et une bonne amertume.

750mL bottle from the Lickbow. Pours a nice gold with a huge white head. This is actually the hardest beer I’ve ever had to pour, it just instantly turns into foam once it leaves the bottle. This is worse than Orval. When it settles 4 hours later, you get a huge whiff of a hop medley, with delicious pale and Belgian-esque malts underneath and some old-fashioned bubblegum. Piney, citrusy, peppermint-y, pretty much every descriptor you can imagine for hops, it’s in here. The flavour....wow. It’s like if a Belgian strong blonde ale married a bunch of hops, and their child was one of those insanely over-achieving kids who actually has trouble not succeeding in everything they do, that kid would be this beer. I have few words to describe the ideal balance here of everything. I’ve had beers at 5% abv which had more booze present in their flavour. This one has a huge, rich malty palate, balanced with a plethora of hop flavours and mild hop bitterness which lingers and bites the back of the tongue. Spicy, mildly yeasty. Unbelievable. This beer is objectively fantastic. I just wish it cost less than $1100 a bottle.

Bottle at yespr. Hazy golden coloured with a huge white head. Fruity aroma of hops, grass, sulphur and spices. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, hops, grass and grapefruits. Sweet and hoppy finish.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2012 Bottle. Light hazy orange with a frothy white head. Aroma is very hoppy and light malty, with notes of hay, flowers, citrus, spices. Flavor starts of malty then goes hoppy-bitter. Not as impressive as I had expectes. Too sweet and a little unbalanced in the mouth.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, light grassy and mild yeasty. Smooth fruity, mellow yeasty and light crisp hoppy. Smooth fruity and mellow yeasty to light malty finish. Lasting fruity and fragile hoppy and mellow yeasty, perfect balance. Very elegant.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Plovmand. Pours a cloudy golden with a huge and frothy shaving foam style white head. Sweet fruit in the nose combined with Belgian yeast and a dry, pleasant hoppiness. Rich body, almost cloyingly sweet, very fruity, quite yeasty with some pleasant aroma hops. However in spite of some late bitterness the hops never manage to balance all the sugars. Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a fluffy long lasting white head. The aroma is hops, citrus, yeast, light banana, spices and some sweet caramel. The flavour is quite sweet with notes of clove, oranges, spices, exotic hops and sweet caramel. Long sweet caramel hoppy finish. Strange mix of lots of things. Nice but still a bit cloying.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, lemons, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, yeast, hops, and straw, leading to a smooth malty finish.
